Social Quarters Ramblings…
Have you been to the lodge lately and seen our new dart board. It
uses our WIFI so that you can play against someone in another lo-
cation. We currently have one team using it on Monday nights. But
they tell me you can always find someone on line looking for a
game. During convention some discussion was held about starting
an in-state Moose dart league. We would play against teams at
other lodges while staying close to home. Anyone interested?
Our annual Ugly Sweater party is scheduled for Dec. 7th with a pot luck dinner.
Dinner will start at 6:30 pm. Bring on the ugly and something to share.
We will again have the one price offer for New Year's Eve. Dinner is NY Strip
Loin roast or Shrimp and fixins. Cost is $50. per person for dinner, drinks, late
night snacks, champagne & noisemakers, $30. per person for dinner, non-alcoholic
drinks, late night snacks, champagne or cider and noisemakers. Those of you that
have other dinner plans but would like to end the evening with us there will be a
$10. charge for late night snacks, champagne and noisemakers. Jerry Allen has
agreed to be our entertainment for the evening.

From The Governor…
Hello Moose Members!
Welcome to winter. If the weather is cold and snowy, come to the
Lodge for some warm conversation and maybe even a hot beverage.
The upcoming holidays are a time for family and friends to get
together and enjoy each other’s company. As Moose members, all of us have a
large extended family. The children at Mooseheart and the seniors at Moosehaven
are the primary reason that this and all other Lodges exist. Please keep them in your
thoughts and consider sending a gift to Moose Charities or by way of the Cradle
fund at the Lodge. While each Lodge contributes to the support of our children and
seniors, individual contributions are very much encouraged.
Thank you for your continued support and patronage at the Lodge but let’s not
forget that we are a “Family” fraternity and that the children and seniors are family
as well.
Happy Holidays,
Governor John

Notes from the Recorder…
Like I said last newsletter, wow, summer is gone. We have lots of things to
be thankful for.
Winter is a wonderful and beautiful time of the year. The past two months
have been busy, but these next two will be just as busy. Look at our calendar
and see what we are doing. Children’s Christmas party, Tom and Jerry night,
Jerry Allan in November and New Year’s Eve. We have food every week day.
Stop by for some food and good company.
Again, I want to thank everyone for all the things you do.
If you have any questions, please contact any officer and we will help you.
Our meetings are the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 7 pm.
Come and share your ideas with us and enjoy the fun and fellowship.
Jamie Shovein, Recorder
Chapter Chat Line…
Well not sure what happened to summer but sadly it is gone. Its been a busy
time for all. I would like to congratulate Elaine Johnson on receiving her
Green Cap at convention. Well deserved. The Chapter also placed 4th in the
state for making their year. The craft fair was a great success and thank you to
all that helped out with this.
The women’s dinners will be November 15th with homemade Meatloaf and
Mac and Cheese with dessert. December’s will be the 20th and will be Split
Pea Soup (per requests), rolls and dessert. There will also be an alternative soup for those who don’t care for
the main option.
The cradle fund raiser is in full swing so please come and donate to Mooseheart and Moosehaven. You can
donate anything from $1 and up, get your name on a cradle to be hung to show your support. Hope to see you
all at our many planned events coming up.
Please don’t forget to help us all with bringing on new members and keeping them by inviting them to our
meetings as well as our fun events.
Thanks for all you do
Wishing everyone a safe & happy holidays!
Debbie/Senior Regent

From The Office…
Yes, it's November! We're really on the countdown to the holidays now. We had a
small turnout for the blood drive but every ounce was appreciated. Maybe next year
we will have more participation. It will be held early in September again. We had a
great time at convention. It’s always fun to catch up with old friends and meet new
ones. Conversations are always interesting and it's good to get different perspectives
on new and old ideas.
A big Thank You to all our travelers who brought back those small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion
and the soaps. We were able to donate 4 boxes to the Duluth Harbor Mission in the Lincoln Park district.
They were very happy to receive them. Therefore, we will continue to collect them. Other things they can use
are disposable razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, nail clippers, mouthwash, packages of socks, washcloths, de-
odorant and feminine products these can also be added to the box in the social quarters.
Due to scheduling difficulties our annual volunteer dinner has been postponed. On January 25th we will
hold a Volunteer Recognition and Honor night. This will be a free dinner for our members who have volun-
teered in any way this past year, our members who have received any honors this past year and our members
who have donated supplies and such that keep us going and growing. There will be a sign-up sheet for this, so
that I have an idea how many to cook for and how much help I'll need in the kitchen. Haven't quite decided on
the menu yet but will take suggestions (but let's be reasonable).
Have you heard? We have started a Wednesday morning "Breakfast Club". Each week will have a differ-
ent special (i.e. one week omelets, another pancakes and sausage, etc.) but there will always be muffins, toast,
and juice. Other things may be added as interest and participation increase. Also the number of volunteers.
WE will be honoring our area veterans with a "Ice Cream Sundae Bar” on Monday, November 11th from
5-7 pm with a nominal fee of $2 for non veterans. All area veterans are invited to join us for ice cream with all
the toppings.
Nov. 4th is the kick off to "Retention Week”. Stop by the lodge, pay your dues, sign-up a new or former
member to get your name entered into a drawing for an item from our "Moose Droppings” shop. Those of you
that haven't been to the lodge for a while haven't seen our little boutique. Stop by and check it out. We don't
have a large supply on hand but will happily order you something in the correct size.
Breakfast with Santa is on the calendar for Dec. 14th with make-n-take craft projects. Anyone interested in
spending a couple of hours with kids, please let me know. (We have a great time) The annual Tom & Jerry
party is Dec. 21st. Remember, you'll need your current paid up membership card. However, we will be happy
to take your dues that night if you aren't current.
See ya around the lodge.
