New programme: scope and objectives

Definition RI: Research infrastructure (RI) comprises all facilities and sources that promote the performance of cross-border and strategic basic research across all scientific disciplines. Besides scientific infrastructure, this includes collections, natural habitats, corpora and databases (including digital opening up).

and regions• IRI can be single-sited, distributed or virtual

exploitation costs (Big Science)• Structural and organised evaluation and reporting (2-

opportunities (EU-global)• 5 > 4 years: follows introduction of regular 2-year

cycle

Funding percentages:• 80%: standard rate (without collaboration)• 90%: consortium • 100% (if cofunding is impossible / duly

motivated)

Equipment=> Research investment:

- costs for acquisition or components for construction- costs for connecting (components of) the research

infrastructure - costs for substantial upgrades of existing research

infrastructure - including the non-refundable portion of VAT.

• development, construction or building of the international research infrastructure.
