Buyers may enter the flea market as early as 7 AM (Vendors do so one hour earlier.) Buyers may choose any lawful parking space which is available and all parking is FREE. Admission to the Rietta Flea Market grounds is FREE. While many Rietta visitors enjoy walking around the multi-acre complex, it is important to note that dogs or any pets are not allowed for safety reasons. Buyers are asked to wear masks and utilize social distancing in this year of the Covid 19 pandemic. Other buyer tips include: Wear comfortable shoes if you intend to see everything as it can be quite a

trek around the entire place. If you are currently using a stroller, we recommend bringing it along as small

children tend to get tired strolling around. Sunblock is recommended as most of our vendors are located within an open

field and you can easily get a sunburn if you spend a couple hours here on a sunny day.

Plan on enjoying the food at our concession stand as we offer many popular items including hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, and our famous fried dough. We also offer the Long Ranch Bar. How about a beer and a burger?

Bring cash as most vendors do not take credit cards or checks. Leave all pets at home. We are not allowed to have dogs, cats, etc. on the

flea market grounds and they are not safe in your car. (Even with the windows open, a pet can die within minutes in a parked vehicle.)

For as long as most of us can remember, Rietta Flea Market has been one of the largest and most popular flea markets in the Northeastern U.S. The location is the same as when it started back over half a century ago on Route 68 in Hubbardston, Massachusetts. The flea market has its origins from a small entertainment venue launched by the late Rita Levesque in 1966. In the couple of years after that, Rita and her husband Ron Levesque established a small flea market at the site with about 10 dealers. Added along the way were to be an extensive flea market complex which can now hold up to about 650 vendors and literally acres and acres of parking. There’s also an indoor complex which houses some indoor dealers, indoor seating area with access to the Snack Bar, and public bathrooms. Rietta operates on Sundays and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016. Rietta’s goal is to be around for at least another 100 years. In 2020, an unprecedented event occurred in the United States with the Covid 19 pandemic which delayed the season opening from the traditional April start to June 14th. With the new reality a functional component of operations, Rietta changed its vendor procedure for the first time in many years. The original process would have dealers line up in the parking lot prior to opening and then enter at 6 AM for set-up with the vendor fee being collected later on. The 2020 process has dealers not lining up at all but simply coming for the 6 AM opening and paying the $30 fee per space upon entering. And the change for customers is that they will be allowed in beginning one hour later at 7 AM or earlier. Both vendors and customers alike have been asked to wear masks and practice social distancing. Monitored bathrooms are available and sanipotties have been added.
