Henry W. Coe Park is California’s largest state park, with over 87,000 acres of wild open spaces to explore. Open year-round for hiking, camping, fishing, and horseback riding. At Pinnacles National Park, massive monoliths, sheer-walled canyons, and talus passages await.

Gilroy Region

At Point Lobos State Reserve you will encounter the most dramatic meeting of land and sea along Highway 1. Continue to be awe-struck at the spires and caves of Pinnacles National Park. It is true, Monterey County parks inspire and invigorate the soul.

Monterey Bay Region

SLO region features over 12 parks within the State Parks system. Two of the most notable are Pismo State Beach and Hearst Castle®. Pismo State Beach/Oceano Dunes State vehicular recreation area is the only drive-on beach in California. Hearst Castle® is California’s only castle, with tours daily.

San Luis Obispo Region

El Presidio de Santa Barbara State Historic Park is surrounded by modern day downtown Santa Barbara and is a unique step back in time. Built by the Spanish in 1782, it was the last of four military fortresses built along the coast of Alta California. Open daily - tours available.

Santa Barbara Region

Channel Islands National Park and National Marine Sanctuary encompasses five remarkable islands and their ocean environment. Boating, whale watching, kayaking and hiking adventures to the area are available through outfitter locations in both the Channel Islands Harbor and Ventura Harbor Village.
