Dear Resident CITYLINK TULLA WIDENING: UPCOMING WORKS AND TEMPORARY REMOVAL OF NOISE WALL The CityLink Tulla Widening project involves adding lanes and other measures to improve the flow of traffic across the 24 kilometre section of freeway from the CityLink tunnels to Melbourne Airport. The project will also provide travel time savings per trip between Melbourne Airport and the West Gate Freeway during peak periods. Once completed, the project will deliver a safer, more reliable freeway. Generally, an additional lane is being added in each direction, as well as upgrades at key interchanges including Bell Street, Mount Alexander Road / Flemington Road and on the Bolte Bridge to West Gate Freeway entry ramp. CPB Contractors (formally Leighton Contractors) is the construction contractor for the Bulla Road to Power Street section of the project. We would like to notify you of upcoming construction works in your area to enable widening of the freeway. As part of these works, the noise wall on CityLink will be temporarily removed. Where we will be We will be working in the area shown on the map below to prepare for widening of the freeway.

Dear Resident

CITYLINK TULLA WIDENING: UPCOMING WORKS AND TEMPORARY REMOVAL OF NOISE WALL

The CityLink Tulla Widening project involves adding lanes and other measures to improve the flow of traffic across the 24 kilometre section of freeway from the CityLink tunnels to Melbourne Airport.

Where we will beWe will be working in the area shown on the map below to prepare for widening of the freeway.

When works will occurThe following works will take place between 7pm and 6am Monday to Saturday commencing now until mid-2016 (no work on Sundays and public holidays).

What we are doing

Noise wall will be removed

Work zone

Dirt track temporarily closed

To prepare for widening of the freeway we will be: Clearing vegetation and trees; Removing barriers and some fencing; Removing the noise wall on CityLink (temporary noise mitigation installed); Creating an unloading area and access tracks for our construction vehicles; Stabilising and widening of the embankment beside CityLink; Strengthening the Wheeler St underpass; and Preparing for the widening of the nearby Moonee Ponds Creek bridge.

The noise walls will be replaced in late 2016 during the widening of the freeway and will be extended north to meet up with the Pascoe Vale Road exit ramp.

What to expectDuring the works you can expect: Small crews working in the area; Some construction vehicles using local roads to access the work site until the new access tracks are in place; Closure of the dirt track east of Moonee Ponds Creek; Temporary closure of the Wheeler Street underpass. There will be periods when the underpass will need to be

closed for specific activities and a detour will be in place; and Some noise and dust during construction activities. However mitigation measures will be implemented to reduce

these impacts on local residents.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We are committed to keeping residents informed and minimising the impacts during construction, while keeping the community and our workers safe at all times. Managing and protecting the environment is also important to us. We are working with local and state government, and adhering to environmental laws to ensure the impact on the natural ecosystem is minimised.
