Introduction This document describes the steps to be taken in order to display CM93/v3 charts (S57 cells) in NaviPac‟s Helmsman‟s Display. EIVA recognizes the fact that installing and displaying CM93/v3 charts in NaviPac is sadly not an easy task, but we are working under directions giving by C-Map/Jeppesen Marine, and that‟s why CM93/v3 installation is not an integral part of the general NaviPac installation. However, once installed the daily operation is straight forward. The following items are required:

Windows XP 32 bit / Windows Vista 32 bit / Windows 7 32 bit

NaviPac (NaviSuite) CD

Wibu-key dongle (not necessary for NaviPac demo purposes)

Aladdin eToken PRO dongle

A proper C-Map CM93/v3 license: o World subscription/purchase license for displaying World charts (CD/DVD) o Software module license for importing S57 (ENC) cell(s)

Installation of CM93/v3 Runtime Library

1. Obtain an Aladdin eToken PRO dongle from EIVA. 2. Obtain a C-Map CM93/v3 chart CD/DVD from EIVA [optional].

3. Obtain the C-Map CM93/v3 license file called password.usr from EIVA (or C-

Map/Jeppesen Marine). If you‟re contacting C-Map/Jeppesen Marine directly yourself then inform about:

4. Save/extract the password.usr file to NaviPac‟s CM93 folder,

e.g. C:\Eiva\NaviPac\CM93\password[EivaeT30006].usr

5. Determine your NaviPac version:

NaviPac 4.0 1. Run NaviPac 4.0 installer 2. First time installation: also check item CM93/v3 and eToken Runtime

Library 3. If NaviPac has already been installed then ONLY check this item

- remember to scroll down and uncheck remaining items

NaviPac 3.5 - P20+ (20 or newer) 1. Login to Eiva's download site and download the CM93/v3 and eToken

runtime installer NaviSuiteInstallCM93v3.exe found under the NaviPac section.

2. Copy to NaviPac's bin folder, e.g. C:\Eiva\NaviPac\bin\NaviSuiteInstallCM93v3.exe

3. Run the CM93/v3 and eToken runtime installer NaviSuiteInstallCM93v3.exe, e.g. run C:\Eiva\NaviPac\bin\NaviSuiteInstallCM93v3.exe

Older NaviPac versions 1. Upgrade to latest NaviPac version and patch, e.g. NaviPac 3.5-P20

Notice: the installer is basically a compilation of a 2 other third party installers, e.g. the C-Map provided CM93/v3 runtime library installers.

5. Accept the terms of condition (user agreement), i.e. that you are aware of the

presence of this document and are following the instructions given (see below):

6. Install the Aladdin eToken PRO runtime environment (dongle driver). If Windows automatically starts an eToken driver installation THEN SKIP THAT INSTALLATION!

This step will extract an embedded and dedicated eToken installer provided by Aladdin software. Press Install and then just follow the instructions given.

You should see the following message after a successful eToken installation (see below):

A first time installation will result in the following notification about rebooting the system. However, don’t reboot the system (press No).

In case of an unintended reboot just restart the installer, but this time uncheck the eToken installation component.

7. Install the CM93/v3 Runtime Library incl. an S57 compiler.

This step will extract an embedded dedicated CM93/v3 runtime library installer provided by C-Map/Jeppesen Marine, Norway. Press Install and notice the listed installation folder. It must be a local subfolder to a local version of NaviPac, e.g. C:\EIVA\NaviPac\CM93 or similar (see further below). However, if it’s not you‟re probably installing on top of a (dependent) remote installation, e.g. N:\NaviPac – don’t do that! Instead perform an independent remote installation (similar to a full NaviPac installation on the remote computer) before continuing the CM93/v3 RTE installation!

If listed a local NaviPac subfolder then simply press Next and just follow the instructions given. Calibrate the Screen. You may use the calibration feature to determine the size of the monitor (a C-Map provided feature but doesn‟t seem that important?).

Insert the eToken dongle and accept (press Yes) (see below). Warning: if Windows starts an eToken driver installation automatically THEN SKIP THAT INSTALLATION!

If you‟re getting an Authentication failed error message (first time installation) then you need to reboot the computer. After rebooting, then re-run the C-Map provided registration module C:\EIVA\NaviPac\CM93\System\CMapUserSetup.exe. If you‟re getting the warning: ”Setup has detected the existent C-MAP user” (see below) then another (expired?) license has already been registered in the eToken dongle. Select Yes to accept overriding an expired license. Select No to preserve your license.

You should see the following message after a successful CM93/v3 runtime installation (see below):

Press Finish to close the C-Map provided CM93/v3 installer

And finally press Finish to close the CM93/v3 for NaviSuite installer. A reboot of the system is recommended. However, if you experience problems detecting the eToken dongle (during the installation) then definitely reboot the system! (and restart the installer to finish the installation…)

Remote installation of CM93/v3 Runtime Library

8. You need to repeat the above listed installation process for every (remote) workstation that needs to be able to display a C-Map chart, e.g. install a full (independent) NaviPac 3.5+/4.0 and C-Map CM93/v3 runtime library for every (remote) HD!

9. You need an eToken dongle as well as a unique license for every C-Map installation,

e.g. 2 eToken dongles and 2 licenses if you‟re running one master HD (Helmsman‟s Display) and one remote/slave HD.

However, 1 eToken dongle and 1 license may be installed and registered on several workstations, but only the workstation where the eToken dongle is currently plugged in may have a high detailed map opened!

10. If you have your own S57 based CM93/v3 database, e.g. generated from imported

S57 edition 3 ENC cell(s), of which you want to use on a remote HD as well, you may perform 1 of the following 3 options:

re-import all cell(s) on the remote computer

copy the S57 based database to the NaviPac Databases folder on the remote computer, e.g. copy C:\Eiva\NaviPac\CM93\Databases\(fi) to remote

just register - not copy - the S57 based database (i.e. located on the main computer) on the remote computer (this option is however uncertain)

Either way a dedicated S57 license is still needed on the remote in order to display the cell(s). See chapter regarding S57 compiler installation. See chapter regarding CM93/v3 database registration.

Installation of CM93/v3 S57 Compiler [optional]

11. Obtain the S57 compiler license file called password.usr from EIVA (or C-Map/Jeppesen Marine). If you‟re contacting C-Map/Jeppesen Marine directly yourself then inform about:

12. Go through/perform item 5 (if not already performed) as the S57 compiler is part of

the CM93/v3 runtime library installer.

13. Add License for Software Modules – see chapter regarding CM93/v3 License registration.

14. Open the Helmsman‟s Display (HD) and select menu item Chart; CM93/v3; Import

S57... This will start the C-Map provided utility module ImportS57.exe, i.e. C:\Eiva\NaviPac\CM93\System\ImportS57.exe.

select the folder where to find the S57 edition 3 cells, e.g. ..\S57\FI

enter preferred database name, typically the cell prefix, e.g. NO for Norway or FI for Finland

consider Turn(ing) Off The Error Reports if S57 edition 3 compliance errors should be ignored anyway

don‟t select a Database Destination Path as the default folder is NaviPac‟s Cm93/Databases folder - post fixed with the cell prefix, e.g. „(no)‟ in this case is saved in C:\Eiva\NaviPac\Cm93\Databases\(no)

choose Execute and cell(s) found should now be listed (compiled) in the Processing list

after a successful S57 compilation/import:

however, the following rather meaningless error message is presumed

meaning either your license is wrong or/and a missing/wrong eToken dongle:

note: it may help to unplug and re-plugin the dongle…

run the ImportS57 module every time S57 cell(s) have to be compiled

15. Register the S57 ENC cell(s) (database) – see chapter regarding CM93/v3 database

registration. 16. See chapter Remote installation regarding remote S57 based databases.

Register the CM93/v3 Database

17. Open the Helmsman‟s Display (HD) and select menu item Chart; CM93/3; Register CM93/3 GeoDatabase... This will start the C-Map provided utility module GDBAdmin.exe, i.e. C:\Eiva\NaviPac\CM93\System\GDBAdmin.exe.

18. Select a CM93/v3 database by locating one of the following database types:

World/Professional/ENC database on CD/DVD (directory CM93_3) (see below)

World/Professional/ENC/S57 database copied onto the hard disc, e.g. C:\CM93_3

Imported S57/3 database, e.g. C:\Eiva\NaviPac\Cm93\Databases\(no)

19. If you‟re about to use a CM93/v3 database based on S57 ENC cell(s) then the S57 compiler license (software modules) has to be registered before the S57 database can be built/compiled!

See chapter regarding CM93/v3 License (Software Modules) registration.

20. Press Register Database to register the selected database.

21. Press Set as default (may already have been done automatically if a green checkmark is shown beside the database name).

22. Use the option „Copy Database to HD‟ to copy a CD/DVD based database onto the

hard disc and make it default in one task.

23. Warning: the ‘Unregister Database’ option will delete the database from the hard disc!

24. Terminate/exit the program (close).

Register the CM93/v3 License

25. Open the Helmsman‟s Display (HD) and select menu item Chart; CM93/3; New

CM93/3 subscription… This will start the C-Map provided utility module LicenseAdm.exe, i.e. C:\Eiva\NaviPac\CM93\System\LicenseAdm.exe

26. Notice the System ID. It should be similar to „Eiva eT 30001‟.

27. Select database type, e.g. Professional+, if listed also select Zone/Area and press

“Add Licenses from file” (see below):

When doing a first time registration, locate the provided password.usr file described in the top of this document, e.g. C:\Eiva\NaviPac\CM93\password[EivaeT30006].usr or similar:

Finally press OK and YES.

Select „Software Modules‟ if the S57 compiler is to be used and repeat the above mentioned license registration procedure (see below):

Note: if adding a license for the second time then the already registered password.usr file will be listed. Either accept the listed one by selecting YES, or locate another one, and press OK and YES.

28. You will then be presented with the map zone(s)/area(s) which are covered by the

eToken dongle and the registered license (see below).

29. Terminate/exit the program (close). 30. C-Map also provides a module that combines the above listed two modules called

ChartManager, e.g. C:\Eiva\NaviPac\CM93\System\ChartManager.exe

It has been experienced that additional software module licenses other than the above listed 2 licenses (S57 (ENC) import and display), might cause a situation, where the CM93v3 runtime library has been installed successfully and the provided license registered successfully, but nevertheless charts won’t show!? In case of this situation a reset of the eToken dongle and re-register the license(s) have proven a successful workaround! This reset is done by simply deleting all license entries using the ChartManager, e.g. select software module license(s) and press Delete Selected. Finally re-register the licenses using the Import from file option.

Displaying CM93/v3 charts in NaviPac’s Helmsman’s Display 31. Open the Helmsman‟s Display (HD) (if not already running) and select menu item

Chart; CM93/3; Open CM93/3 chart – type C-Map (or alternatively menu item Open CM93/3 chart – type S52).

32. Now a CM93/v3 chart should appear on the map view in the HD (you may have to

pan/jump/zoom to the subscribed area(s) in order to see a detailed map).

33. Change the info/object layer by selecting View settings; CM93v3; Info layer full/other.

34. For simultaneously displaying multiple databases select menu item Chart; CM93/3; Active CM93/3 GeoDatabase(s)… and Add additional database, e.g. a S57 based database on top of a (low detailed) World chart.

Note: you need a proper CM93/v3 license in order to display high detailed charts. However, a low detailed chart is always allowed to be displayed, provided that you have access to a database.

35. Heureka – you hopefully got to this point successfully!
