LET’S REVIEW!
Write an algebraic expression for the following phrases.
1. 5 less than the product of 3 and a number t.
2. Twice the sum of a number b and 8.
TRY TO TRANSLATE THE ALGEBRAIC PHRASE INTO A VERBAL PHRASE.

NEW VOCABULARY
Power: made of two parts, a base and an exponent.
Base: the number you are multiplying by itself in a power.
Exponent: how many time you multiply the base to itself.

4. Simplify: a numerical expression when you it with its single numerical value.
5. Evaluate: replacing each variable with a given number, then simplify the expression.
