    STEP 1.Start placing your TH in the middle of the base where the X mark is located. Fromthere, start to envision your Silo death trap (SDT) / Town hall death trap (THDT)

    design.

    ConceptUtilizing the death trap idea means forcing monsters to path a certain opening or

    passage lined with booby traps killing them to reach a target/building. Many

    variations have been made with the SDT/THDT. What affects the design is thenumber of silos one has and the number of blocks being used for pathing. But what

    makes it effective is the fact that there is no breech in the walls in getting the silo,monsters path to the entrances made and booby traps are triggered 80-100%. You

    need as well better understanding of pathing fundamentals to make it work. It will beyour choice whether to copy a design from others (dont forget to give credits to the

    original creator), modify a current SDT/THDT design or make an entirely new one

    yourself. The challenge here is utilizing less number of blocks to make use of theextras for tower pathing purposes.

    ApplicationSo Ill start off with my base to show concrete example in building an epic base. Imcurrently at level 41 with a level 8 TH. Ill be making a short-term base to counter

    the attacks made by my neighbor who I am at war with in map room level 2. I

    decided to make use of a modified version of The Unknowns SDT/THDT design in hisRising Sun base. I used a total of 106 blocks for this concept. I decided to recyclemy 5th silo since Im getting extra storage with each OP I conquer. I recently have 9

    outposts. Further explanation of how monsters path will be explained in the picture

    (See below).

    The 2 layer blocks followed by the one layer block placement ensured that monsterspath to the entrances and not munch on the wall. One secret as well is the spacewhere the traps are placed is huge enough to favor monster pathing.

    STEP 2.Situate monster bunkers if possible within the base to make it less baitable. Ideally they can

    be placed near silos to prevent it from catapult attacks since the monster bunker is animportant defense building. Just ensure that it does not affect the SDT/THDT.

    ConceptMonsters inside a bunker are a critical defense strategy against ground attacks. To stall the

    10mil putty rage attack using PXs stuffing the bunker with ichis or octo-oozes or even a

    combination of both is the way to counter it. When facing an attack with 33 D.A.V.E.s ormore then use Eye-ras to wipe them out instantly. So in conclusion, monster bunkers whenplaced and used correctly can make a difference in achieving success in defending or a

    complete downfall of the base. When a bunker is 50% destroyed with a catapult attackmonsters inside wont be coming out. Same goes if it is damaged by 50% by othermonsters even though the monsters inside came out before it was damaged, they wont be

    coming out to defend the base on the next attack. The reason why the bunkers are

    preferable to be placed in the center of the base is to make them less baitable. Simplestattacks one can make to a bunker placed outside of a sniper or tesla range is sending a

    single teratorn and inflicts damage even by half making it useless.

    ApplicationNext Ill strategically place my 4 bunkers outside my SDT in the areas shown. Its obvious

    that the bunkers wont disrupt the SDT. Ill then temporarily mark with a block/s the outer

    range of the bunker which places them at risk for being baited.

    STEP 3.1Position your towers depending on the type of CF you want your base to have. Use theremaining blocks to lengthen walk time of tower-eating monsters to delay them especially

    with the 40 seconds 10 million putty rage attack. With teratorns ruling the skies in BYM,

    upgrading snipers to a higher level and the teslas as well is a must and there placement as

    well has become vital in defending against these monsters.

    ConceptConcentrated or Cover fire (CF) can be categorized into three:A.) High

    B.) ModerateC.) Low

    High CF is good against normal attacks but can easily be pawned with the 10 million putty

    rage due to close tower placement. Low CF is a direct counter-attack with the putty rage

    however single towers can easily be taken down with a quantity of monsters with no back-

    up fire power to defend the tower that much. Having moderate CF and good pathing is idealin a base. It would still boil down to your preference what CF type you want your base tohave.

    Application

    Going back to my design, I prefer putting the laser towers near the opening of the SDT

    since lasers can easily kill looting monsters as they will path those passages leading to theSDT. The tesla tower is in between the 2 silos outside the SDT since it has much wider

    coverage in protecting both 2 silos. Now since this a short-term base as mentioned before, I

    placed four sniper towers covering the whole SDT/THDT part to better protect it because myrival has been attacking me with teratorns and successfully can take down one silo. So I willgo with the concept,snipers in, cannons out. My ground defense is solid enough with the

    SDT.

    STEP 3.2Make your towers resistant to catapult attacks by either having enough space in between

    towers or placing RGs in between them. Laser and tesla towers including the bunkers are aswell better off placed near the silos so that they wont be easily catapulted as well.

    Concept

    With the introduction of the catapult, players have been abusing its power, especially ifresources are abundant, in attacking bases. However, there are ways to counter it. Catapultattacks are effective if it can tear down 2 or more towers in one fling. So spreading out

    towers is a remedy for this or placing RGs ( resource gatherers) in between them helps a lot

    as well to discourage the attacker from catapulting it because it will trigger faster DP(damage protection) activation if RGs are taken down.

    Application

    In my base, I decided to place RGs in between the towers to discourage catapult attacks. AllRG levels is at 8 so it will help trigger early DP activation if taken down and resource

    gathering wont be a problem in this level for Map Room level 2.

    STEP 4.

    Make a NEC (never-ending chain) of buildings surrounding your base. RGs as well can beutilized to create the NEC.

    ConceptNEC works by delaying attack time of the monsters or forcing the monsters to path away

    from the SDT/THDT making the attacker lose valuable time and resources in the attack.With the NEC destroyed it contributes as well to early DP activation. This also prevents

    teratorns from easily reaching the silos and TH once sniper and tesla towers are down.

    The building of your base does not end here. You then need to study any attacks made and

    make the improvements necessary. You can then post your new yard in STY (Stomp theyard) forums and feedback from other players will also help out in building better bases.
