Just saw that the road trip for December is to the Mob Museum in Las Vegas. I went there several years ago and wow. The original Federal Court House of Las Vegas houses the three-story museum that is home to mob memorabilia. When you go there is a basic charge to get in, an extra charge if you want to tour the Crime Scene Lab, and a charge if you’re interested in the basement Speakeasy. They had a discount for those 65 and older.

I never knew there were so many mob families. Being from Wisconsin, I found the Milwaukee mob there. This museum covers it all. They have guns from the time of Capone, knives, pictures and even the electric chair. When I went it took three hours to go through the basic tour.

The Mob Museum is very interesting. Go check out your local mob.

From the Wood Shop

In November the Shop Stewards upgraded the vacuum systems to 2 micron filters for better dust collection. In December the electrical system will be updated. December Shop Orientation is Tuesday 14th at 10AM, and Lathe Orientation Thursday 16th at 10AM. The annual fee is $30/household and can be paid in the Office. All shop users must have a signed VDS Release form and have been in an Orientation class at least once. Any large projects need to be scheduled with the shop stewards. One of our rides in November…

“Off – Road”

Come on out and enjoy see in the beautiful scenery and local wildlife with the off-road group. We even enjoy and occasional meal out in Oatman. The mornings are getting crisp and beautiful. It’s always fun to explore and you never know what new and exciting views, wildlife or surprises you might see. We depart the office parking lot at 9:00 on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Bring water and any snack you might want to enjoy. Hope to have you join us,


The Guardian Foundation… As many of you know our community has adopted the Guardian Foundation as one of the non-profit groups we assist with donations of many kinds throughout the year. We have a collection bin in the office where we are collecting warm clothing, (such as jeans, sweats, hats and gloves) The underprivileged in our greater community appreciate all the the support our helping hands of service can give. We also have a cash donation box on the counter in the office ( next to the activity sign up sheets) if some of you would rather show your support with monetary donations. Last year we also held a very successful toy drive and we would like to do the same this year. Please bring your new (unwrapped) toy donations to the activities office. Last year we heard stories return to us, about how the children were so excited in receiving just the right “baby doll” or “hot wheels” or “fun game”. Also how some of the young teens were thrilled receive their own basketball/football or make up and nail kits. It is heart warming to know we were able to bring smiles to the youngsters faces. Norma Thornton of our Vista Del Sol community plays a huge part in the success of the Guardian Foundation and the part they play in giving so much service in the greater Bullhead Community. She is a shining light to these people and a great example to all of us. If any of you would like to know more about the Guardian Foundation, Norma would be glad to speak to you about her purpose and what drives her to do so much. We would like to thank you for your support and donations in the past, in the present and during this holiday season. We can all feel good knowing we have helped another in just a tiny way through the struggles they face in life. Happy Holidays my friends !!

November was extremely busy with a flood of folks requesting information regarding both RV lot sales and manufactured home. Requests had led to increasing sales of RV lots as purchasing has become an attractive addition to the RV lifestyle. All indications point to this trend building.

We have received four new manufactured homes and they are being readied for sale. Two are to be readied for sale by the end of December and the other two are predicted to be complete by the end of January. If you are interested or you have a friend or family member who are candidates for homes in the Resort, please stop by the Sales Office for the latest info.

Many visitors are surprised to see Vista Del Sol in person and are amazed at the quality of the amenities and the friendly environment. To many “locals” the Resort is a best kept secret. Travelers compare us to other stops they have made, and we consistently come out positive.
