There’s nothing like knocking back a cold one in the middle of a sizzling Las Vegas summer. The city’s beer scene has truly blossomed in recent years. Now microbreweries on the Strip and in downtown are crafting suds every bit as inventive as those from famous brewing cities on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. CALLING ALL BEER LOVERS! CHICAGO BREWING COMPANY Although the brewing facilities are at the restaurant’s headquarters in west Las Vegas, CBC’s premium craft beers are transported downtown to its bustling Four Queens location, which also features a cigar bar and lounge. In addition to a seasonal brew, five beers are on hand year round—including the award- winning Old Town Brown, a German-style brown ale. Looking for a nonalcoholic treat? Try the handcrafted root beer. SIN CITY BREWING COMPANY Prone to sin? Delight in drunken debauchery at one of Sin City Brewing Co.’s three Strip locations—in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and the Flamingo. Always on tap are four custom brews with lust-filled names: Weisse Is Nice, Never Pass Up a Blonde, Say Hello to Amber and The Dark Side of Sin. The predominantly female bartenders in logo tank tops dispense drinks in an intimate bar setting—or, at the Miracle Mile Shops, takeaway service is offered via a walk-up window! TRIPLE 7 RESTAURANT AND MICROBREWERY Located in downtown’s Main Street Station, a deluge of handcrafted brews—complemented by pizza, burgers and even sushi—awaits guests at this first-rate microbrewery. While the highlight is sure to be the tasting (get the Sampler that comes with five-ounce servings of five different beers), visitors will also be intrigued by the copper tanks where the delicious concoctions are created. According to brewmaster Guy Bartmess, the bestseller is the lightest beer, High Roller Gold. Triple 7 always has a tasty seasonal beer available as well, like summer’s Mango Hefeweizen. Bartmess advised novices with a budding interest in craft beers to start with the pale, flavored brews and work their way toward the darker ones.
