Date: 27-07- 2019

Brief Report of the Event

BVRITH Anti ragging cell organised an awareness program on ragging and its impact in

association with the NSS-BVRITH Unit. Anti-ragging awareness program have been

organizeadfor second year students under guidance of Principal Dr K V N Sunitha, on

27th

July 2019. Under this program we have provided all information regarding ragging.

Various aspects of Ragging are elaborated with Power point presentation. Principal

highlighted the importance of this topic. The vote of thanks was delivered by DrV.Madhavi,

program officer of NSS-BVRITH. she also encouraged the students to coexist together

without ego but on a helpful basis outsourcing to create better relations and friendship.





Name of the Program:Awareness campaign on drug abuse

Date: 26-06- 2019


Brief Report of the Event:

With the objective of creating awareness on drug abuse among students, NSS BVRITH-for the people

organised a rally about ill effects of drug addiction and promote healthy living. Holding placards, that

read, “Get high on grades not on drugs, say yes to life and say no to drugs”, besides slogans, the

students marched towards the Bachupally circle, Hyderabad. The rally was flagged of by the DrKVN

Sunitha, Principal, BVRITH and appreciated all NSS volunteers who participated in this activity .

Around 40 students and 5 faculty participated to spread awareness about the ill effects of drug

addiction.

Name of the Program:International Yoga Day Celebrations

Date: 21-06- 2019



The International Yoga Day was celebrated with great fervour at BVRIT Hyderabad College

of Engineering for Women on 21st June 2019. The coordinator of Yoga and Meditation Club,

Ms.B.Rajitha along with the NSS program officer Dr.VMadhavi welcomed the participants

and gave a brief introduction on Yoga and the college level activities of the club.The

commencement of the program was with address the by Principal Dr. K.V.N Sunitha

followed by the Yoga Trainer BVRIT Hyderabad Mr. P.Naga Raju. In his talk, he

emphasized on the need of the hour for people to know the importance of physical and mental

fitness to succeed in life. He also mentioned that daily Yoga as a ritual can strike a balance in

the physical and psychological effectiveness of the human beings. The celebrations ended, by

performance of few Asanas by the students.

Date: 21-06-2019



The students of BVRIT Hyderabad interned with VOICE4Girls from 21st to 30

thof June 2019.

VOICE conducts camps in government and low cost private schools. The mission of Voice 4

Girls is to enable the marginalized adolescent girls in India to take care of their future by

imparting critical knowledge, spoken English and life skills through activity-based camps.

Critical knowledge topics such as basic health, safety, rights, self-awareness, and

future planning.

Action-oriented life skills like interpersonal skills, leadership, and problem solving,

independent and critical thinking ability.

Communicative English skills which provide campers with a marketable skill that can

increase education and employment opportunities.

Date: 20-06-2019



NSS BVRITH organized Plantation Program on 20th

June 2019 at the BVRITH campus. The

main aim of this program was to spread and create awareness to protect the environment from

degrading. The NSS volunteers of BVRITH participated in the program. Dr. K V N Sunita,

Principal,Dr.V.Madhavi NSS Program officer, faculty of various departments joined in to

plant saplings in and around the BVRIT Hyderabad campus. The event concluded with an

oath taken to prevent the environment from pollution and by contributing a little in our daily

life to conserve and save the environment. The plantation program was a huge success

empowering students with substantial knowledge of environment and plants and

simultaneously enhancing their social skills.

NSS Unit of BVRITH organiseda social awareness programme on ban of polythene and

plastic bags.NSS volunteers create awareness among shop venders in Nizampet through

rallies.Volunteers also displayed posters to make plastic free Nizampet. In this occasion NSS

students distributed cloth bags for public awareness. NSS program officer DrV.Madhvai,

Faculty of BVRITH and 42 volunteers participated in the event.

Name of the Program:Swacch BVRITH

Date: 16-04-2019



A campus cleaning programme was conducted by NSS wing of BVRITH on 16th

April, 2019

at the BVRIT Hyderabad campus. A total of 50 NSS volunteers participated in the

programme. Dr.V.Madhavi, Program officer, NSS, BVRITH welcomed the gathering. Prof.

Dr .K V N Sunitha, Principal, BVRITH, initiated cleaning activities among volunteers. She

motivated student volunteers towards ‘Clean India’ by her inspirational words. The

volunteers cleaned the entire campus wearing gloves and collected all the litter in big bags for

disposal. Refreshments were distributed to volunteers.

Lok Sabha

Date: 11-04-2019



The students of BVRITH volunteered to help the needy voters on the day of polling for

Hyderabad Lok Sabha Constituencies on 11.04.2019.

The NSS volunteers helped divyangs, elderly voters and those who were suffering from ill

health,on the day of polling. The volunteers ensured smooth movement of these voters and

helped them in searching their name in the voters’ list and locating polling booth as per need.

Women”

Date: 14-03-2019


Brief Report of the event:

The growth and development of the nation and society depends upon the growth and

development opportunities for all including the female gender. To understand the concept of

gender equality a session “Role of NSS Volunteers in the empowerment of Women” was

organized for NSS volunteers of BVRITH. Expert trainer from English department, Dr

P.Anuradha, inspired students to be equality champions and empower others for a more

gender-equal India. The session covered a wide range of responses of the NSS women

volunteers on their involvement in NSS activities, their perceptions about the women

empowerment and the impact of NSS activities on different aspects of women empowerment.

Name of the Program: ASIA BOOK OF RECORDS

Date: 07-03-2019



Among the many accolades of the college, this year the proudBVRITians opened a new

record on the platform of ASIA BOOK OF RECORDS(ABR) for the mass attempt on

“Largest Mental Health Peer Counselling Session for Women” which was held on 7th

March 2019 on the eve of International Women’s Day-2019. ABR is registered with the

Government of India with RNI No.HRENG/2011/40693. 500 trained BVRITH Peer

Counselors (MITRAS) used scientific process to develop case sheets and attempted

counseling for 500 counselees for the conduction of the event. The active participation of

1200 participants of BVRITH family during the session marked the success of the event.

Dr.Anuradha Vishnu Raju Garu, the First Lady of SVES, Vishnu Educational Society and

Dr.KVNSunitha, Principal of BVRITH were the Chief Patrons. Dr. Vasudha Rani,

Adjudicator, ABR presented the medal and the certificate.

Name of the Program:Science Fair for ShamsheegudaGovt High School Children Date: 02-03-2019



One of the most precious, valuable subjects is Science. We come across Science in our day-

to-day life. Almost everything we see is based on Science. All we need to do is just

understand the principle behind it. So, Sahaya society in coordination with NSS BVRITH-for

the people conducted Science Fair for government school students on 02/03/2019 to bring out

their talents in the field of science and to make them aware of practical sciences. Students too

showed a keen interest in science fair and put their heart and soul to work on their projects.

This is the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practical application. Sahaya

society also takes the initiative to provide them all the necessary equipments for their

projects. NSS volunteers of BVRITH helped the students to come out students outstanding

ideas to practical experiments and the projects made by them were really appreciated.

NSS Unit BVRITH-FOR THE PEOPLE in co-ordination with INDIAN RED-CROSS

Society, organized First-Aid training session for the I B.Tech students on 9th

February

2019.MsUsharani, Medical Officer trained the students on the basics of First aid. In this

regard 80 students had the training and got the ID cards to provide First-aid to the needy at

any place.Dr V Madhavi, NSS Program officer coordinated this event.

Name of the Program:Traffic Awareness Campaign

Date: 04-02-2019



A public awareness rally for road safety was organized on 4th

April, 2019 by NSS BVRITH

in association with Bachupally police department. The rally started from BVRITH and ended

in the campus of the main roads of Bachupally village. At the rally, the students were walking

along the slogans while chanting slogans with sarcasm. The students shouted out the slogans

about importance of wearing helmet and road safety. It was not only about two wheelers but

also for the drivers who drive four wheelers. Dr V Madhavi, NSS Program officer

coordinated the programme. Faculty members, NSS Volunteers and Bachupally Police staff

participated in this event.

Name of the Program:Kill Cancer Marathon- World Cancer Day

Date: 03-02-2019



Volunteers of NSS BVRITH participated in the 5K Marathon on World Cancer Day with the

theme “KILL CANCER” on 3 February 2019 to create awareness about cancer at Necklace

Road, Secunderabad. The World Cancer Day targets misinformation, raises awareness, and

reduces stigma.The initiative is to instill hope in the minds of the common people against

cancer and make them stronger in the fight against the deadly monster called cancer.

BVRITH Date: 02-02-2019



Self Motivation is always a best motivation. When we explore more about the world, our

dreams, aspirations increase and hence we become more and more confident to face this

competing world. Field trip is one of the most successful educational trips not only to gain

knowledge but also to get the idea of value of higher education.On 02/02/2019 a field trip

was organized by SAHAYA wherein students of Govtschool, Shamsheeguda visited

BVRITH College of Engg for Women to explore more on how higher education is and the

benefits of it. They are even given a chance to visit each and each lab, library, class rooms of

colleges, so that they could aspire to pursue higher education. During this, lecturers teach

them about the working of regular used machines.

Date: 26-01-2019



Volunteers of NSS BVRITH (50 volunteers) participated among 3000 students in

BharathaMathaMahaHarathi Program on Republic Day Celebrations on 26 January 2019 at

Necklace Road that was held by BharathaMatha Foundation which organized the event to

evoke National Integration and Patriotism among the youth.

NSS volunteers of BVRITH participated in Republic Day celebrations on 26th

January 2019.

In commemoration of the 150th

Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma

Gandhi, the staff & students remembered Mahatma Gandhi’s preachings and participated in a

procession with slogans for a Corruption-free India, Non-violence etc. The Programme

concluded with a Vote of thanks by Ms. Ramya, NSS Volunteer. At the end sweets were

distributed to the students. Indeed, it was a joyful day, a day to love and respect our country

and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in

diversity.

Name of the Program: Maths Classes for ShamsheegudaGovt High School Children

Date: 19-01- 2019



Maths is a subject which is commonly found to be hard for many people. Most students start

hating maths when they don't have a strong knowledge of basics. NSS BVRITH-for the

people taught basics like multiplication, division, fractions, decimal number operation for

grade 5,6 classes in Govt school. Such basic topics make students strong enough to solve

problems. To help weak students, NSS volunteers first test how strong is their basics and

then help to build a strong base. To create interest in them several activities like quiz, models,

problem solving capabilities were conducted and prizes were given to the winners. The

patience and regular follow up of such activities by volunteers make the students start doing

problems with more interest.

Name of the Program: JMJ SnehaSadan Orphanage Visit

Date: 31-12- 2018



NSS Unit of BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering for Women celebrated New Year

2019 in JMJ SnehaSadan Orphanage, Bachupally. This Orphanage has around 50 Children

and 20 old aged people. Few faculty members of the college accompanied volunteers to the

destination at 3:00 pm on 31/12/2019. Volunteers distributed needy items to the kids. They

were very happy with gifts they received. Volunteers were glad to interact with old aged

people and they exchanged New Year wishes.





Name of the Program: National Pollution Prevention Day Celebrations

Date: 03-12-2018



Pollution is a major problem that India is not only facing, but the whole world is battling with

it. To create awareness about the effects of pollution, problems that people are facing

because of it, NSS BVRITH celebrated National Pollution prevention day on 03-12-2018 at

BVRIT Hyderabad Campus. It is very important to manage the Pollution for making the

Environment clean and better to live in it. It is very important for people to get every

knowledge of the Pollution to reduce it for making a better World of Clean Environment

without Pollution.Pollution problem mainly occurs in those areas where there are lots of

Vehicles running on the Roads. In this occasion, NSS volunteers request all the students and

faculty to use public transport to reduce the private vehicles. BVRITH College management

also encourage students to use metro service by providing the free shuttle service to students

and faculty from METRO station to college.

Date: 01st Dec 2018



World Aids Day is observed on December 1 every year to create awareness about the

symptoms, causes and preventives of the pandemic disease HIV/AIDS that has taken

unprecedented number of lives. Awareness Programme on Prevention of HIV/AIDS was

organized by NSS BVRITH-for the people on 01/12/2018 to enlighten people about the signs

and symptoms of HIV/AIDS. The students actively participated in spreading awareness by

conducting campaigns and rally with slogans and believed that the future generation has the

ability to sensitize others and prevent spread of HIV.

Volunteers of the NSS BVRITH organized “Joy of Giving-DaanUtsav” in the campus.

Under this event HAPPY BOXES were placed in each block of the college and hostels to

collect old clothes, toys, books etc., for the well-being of people who really need these. The

volunteers took the initiative to collect the things from respective neighbourhoods to spread

the awareness about the event. In total 3600+ items were collected by the college. The

collected things were distributed to the needy and poor people in neabylocalities.In addition,

the students of BVRITH put up the stalls of food, ornaments, plants etc.whichwere sold and

the generated amount of Rs 20,000/- has been donated to the orphanage.With the support of

Principal, Professors, Volunteers and students this event was a great success.

Name of the Program: Mental Health Awareness program for KukatpallyGovt High School

Children

Mental health awareness is an important issue for all educators. Student's mental health has

great impact on learning and achievement. Considering the importance of mental health,

certified NSS volunteers of BVRITH (MITRAs) help Govt school students with mental

issues to promote healthy social, emotional, and behavioural development of students. The

concepts of self-care and responsibility, negative coping behaviours, as well as the negative

impact were emphasized towards mental wellness.

To understand the concept of gender equality a session “Role of NSS Volunteers in the

empowerment of Women” was organized for newly joined NSS volunteers of BVRITH.

Expert trainer from English department, Dr S.FaithManjushaVijayalatha,dlivered a talk on

the Role of NSS volunteers in general and female volunteers in particular-who are equipped

with competence and knowledge to deal with the social and economic challenges are in a

position to transmit the process of self empowerment among women folk through creation of

awareness about women’s rights, gender equality and by way of providing information on

self employment and economic independence. Speaker also discussed the role of women

empowerment for the growth of country. Dr V.Madhavi, NSS Program officer is coordinated

this session. The participants enjoyed and learned a lot from this session.

Date: 24-09-2018



NSS BVRITH- for the people celebrated the Golden Jubilee of NSS Foundation Day on 24th

September 2018 at 3.00 p.m. in the Seminar Hall, Diamond Block. Students, teaching and

non teaching staff participated in the event. NSS was formally launched on 24th

September,

1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of the Nation. Therefore, 24 September is

celebrated every year as NSS Day. The Honourable Principal Dr.KVNSunitha, inaugurated

the program and spoke about the relevance and significance of NSS in the post-modern

scenario. On the occasion, NSS volunteers presented a patriotic song, a skit and also spoke on

the present evils in the society. The programs like essay writing competition on plastic waste

management, skit on impact of plastic on environment were conducted. The program was

enriched by the cultural presentations by the volunteers followed by NSS oath. The students’ involvement is truly appreciable.

Children

Date: 22-09-2018



Motivation is the motor that moves our world. The lack of motivation at school leads students

to have difficulty studying, doing homework, staying focused, or getting work done. NSS

BVRITH volunteers concerned with helping students become more motivated in the

classroom. Volunteers make the Govt school children curious, interesting and engaging with

different activities like introducing role models, famous personalities who inspire kids to

work harder, overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams.

On behalf of NSS Unit BVRITH-FOR THE PEOPLE organised Eco-friendly Ganesh Idol

Making Competition on 11/09/2018 and distributed the same to the residents of Rajivgandhi

Nagar on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi to promote the idea of banning of Plaster of Paris

idols.

Date: 29-08-2018



Building up of a better team who are physically as well as mentally fitNational Service

Scheme (NSS) unit of BVRITHorganized a session on “Fitness 4 Healthy Life” on 29/08/18

at BVRIT Hyderabad campus. Around 165 members participated in this event including NSS

volunteers. The main aim of this session was to help the BVRITH community to become fit

and healthy through enjoyable exercises and various other activities. Dr V.Madhavi and Ms

Laxmi, Physical Director are coordinated this event. The participants enjoyed and learned a

lot from this session.

BVRITH volunteers of National Service Scheme Unit conducted Rakhee Workshop for

autistic children of Autism Research Multidisciplinary School of Abhaya Care Foundation.

The one day workshop included selling of rakhees made by autistic children by NSS

volunteers. The collected amount was given to Abhaya Care Foundation.

In connection with 72nd

Independence Day Celebrations, BVRITH National Service Scheme

volunteers went to Government primary school which is located in Nizampet Village. As

part of celebrations, volunteers conducted various games. They also organized and conducted

cultural programmes for the school children that focused on the importance of education and

Swatch Bharat. The NSS head Dr. V Madhavi distributed prizes to the school children.

August 15 is a great day and a proud moment for every Indian. In connection with

72nd

Independence Day Celebrations, a parade was organized by NSS team at BVRIT

Hyderabad Campus. Prof K V N Sunitha, Princiapl, BVRITH hoisted the national flag and

offered tribute to the Father of the Nation and Bharat Mata. Faculty, staff, and students from

the institute participated in the celebrations in large numbers with patriotic fervor.The

students and faculty participants decided to follow the quote “You must be the change you

want to see in the World”. NSS volunteers sang patriotic songs portraying the richness of

our country.

Dengue. Considering the rise in the number of victims due to dengue and help create a

Dengue Free area, Students raised slogans and carried placards on the topic. The rally

emphasized to educate the people surrounding Bachuppally on the preventive measures to

FIGHT DENGUE through various slogans. Around 40 NSS volunteers, faculty participated

in this awareness programme and distributed pamphlets and explained the mode of spread of

Dengue virus.

The NSS Orientation Program (for newly joined first year students) was organized by NSS

Unit of BVRITH on 28.07.2018 at 3.00 p.m. at Seminar Hall, Diamond Block.

Dr.V.Madhavi, NSS Program officer, BVRITH, welcomed the gathering. The Principal Dr. K

V N Sunitha, BVRITH delivered a brief history of NSS and the importance of NSS team to

the society. She also explained about the NSS general activities and special camp activities to

all the students. Finally, Dr.B.Tanuja, Asst Professor concluded the session by a formal vote

of thanks. The NSS volunteers arranged the entire programme and the programme was a

grand success. There were nearly 400 first year students who took advantage of the

programme and understood about the functioning of NSS. Nearly 24 NSS senior volunteers

actively participated in arranging the programme.

Objective of the Programme

1. To understand about NSS Motto.

2. To understand about functioning of NSS.

3. To understand about the important thrust areas where we can work like cleanliness, fitness,

gender issues etc.,

4. To understand the community in which they work.

5. To understand themselves in relation to their community.

On behalf of NSS Unit BVRITH-FOR THE PEOPLE, our NSS volunteers took autistic

children of Arms Foundation to Goshala on 28/07/2018, near Moosapet as a field trip.This

program can help to improve social interaction and the helping habits of the students.
