For Immediate Release: July 26, 2011 The Burnside Police Department is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Police Officer. On February 7 th , 2011 the Burnside Police Department hired Andrew A. Payne to serve as a patrolman with the Department. Officer Payne honorably served with the United States Marine Corps until 2010. While enlisted with the United States Marine Corps Officer Payne served as a Military Policeman for 5 years. Further Officer Payne served on the United States Marine Corps SRT Team for 2 ½ years, where he attended numerous advanced training classes such as Basic SWAT, Army Special Reaction Team School, DEA Clandestine Lab Tactical Training, EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operation Course), Doppler Radar Certification and numerous others. Officer Payne is a native of Pulaski County where he attended Pulaski County High School, graduating in 2005. Officer Payne is scheduled to attend the Department of Criminal Justice Basic Training Academy in June, 2011, and after successfully completing the Academy and the Burnside Police Department’s Field Training Officer Program will begin patrolling Burnside.
