LMBR We have reached the time that our school is rolling over into the new finance system. This system not only controls our school finance but also controls our roll marking and student management systems. I ask for your patience and understanding as we learn to use this system. Going Live begins on Monday 5th September. We hope this transition runs smoothly as we are one of over 200 schools switching over. Uniforms As the weather is starting the get warmer, students are permitted to wear either their winter or summer uniforms for the remainder of Term 3. Please ensure all students are in summer uniform at the commencement of Term 4. The uniform shop is open every Friday morning from 8:45am to 9:15am to purchase new or second hand uniforms. Celebrating the Arts - Wednesday, 14th September 2016 Tickets can be purchased directly from the Riverside Theatre Box Office on 8839 3399.

We look forward to our choir, band, dance and singers performing at the concert. If your child is involved with this performance, reminder notes will be sent home tomorrow. Father’s Day Stall The students attended the Father’s Day stall today. If your child forgot there will be an opportunity to purchase a gift first thing in the morning at 9am. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful band of helpers led by Mrs Prevetera who gave up their morning (and to those who wrapped last week), it is very much appreciated by the students and staff.

Book Week Visit – Craig Smith Thank you to Mrs Spies for organising this wonderful event for the students. The students enjoyed learning about drawing techniques that Craig uses in his illustrations. Craig was thrilled to personally sign so many books for the students. Burnside Veggie Patch Update Its harvesting time! We are very excited to finally be able to harvest our first crops. Next Wednesday afternoon at 2:45pm, Year 5 will be hosting the first Burnside Growers Market. We will be selling our ORGANIC: broccoli, lettuce, Asian stirfry mix, spinach and baby spinach picked fresh straight from the patch at lunch time. We have also received lemons from The Shah Family and Mrs Millingham will be picking celery from her own veggie garden. Don't forget our magic worm juice and banana peel fertilizer will be bottled and on sale. If you have any additional lemons, oranges or herbs that you would like to contribute, they will be greatly received.

All money collected will be used to buy summer seedlings. Remember to bring your loose change. Don't forget to bring your own green bag to take your produce home with you! School Administrative and Support Staff Recognition Week This year’s theme is: “SAS Staff Essential” Next week we will acknowledge the hard work done by the School Administrative and Support Staff (SAS Staff) as part of National Recognition Week. Every day of the school year SAS staff faces new challenges in the running of our public schools and the provision of the quality education which our children will need for life during this century. They are constantly adapting to change so that our children can have the best education possible. SAS staff are a dedicated group of professional workers who are often overlooked in the school setting. Recognition Week gives the whole school the opportunity to demonstrate to SAS staff that they are valued members of the school community. Please individually take the time next week to thank them for the high level of dedication they give to their work.

Our dedicated SAS staff Administrative Manager Mrs Carol Vanderlight Administrative Officer Mrs Maureen Jarrott / Ms Juliette Peake Learning Support Officer Mrs Natalie Boyd / Mrs Donna Sicurella / Mrs Lisa Chapman General Assistant Mr Mark Ohrynowsky

Happy Father’s Day for this weekend – enjoy the day with your family. Our next newsletter will go out in week 10 due to LMBR transition. We will continue to update you via the email.
