The women’s division of the Burleson Chamber has enjoyed a great years of strong women speakers in 2015. The Power of Heels

Speakers Series for 2015 is title Women in Leadership.

In January, Sharen Wil-son, the newly-elected and rst female District Attor-

ney of Tarrant County, was the guest speaker. Wilson discussed the importance of public service and what it means to work in the public eye. Her presentation was both humorous and powerful.

In March, Cindy Milrany spoke to the Power of Heels. Milrany is the rst female CFO of Freese and Nichols, one of the region’s and the nation’s largest engineering rms. Milrany spoke about

Freese and Nichols win of the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige award, a topic that provided ideas and informa-tion for business of every ilk and size.

“With our Women In Leadership series, we are striving to nd successful women that are both trail-blazers and role models,” said Ellen Larimore, the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Chamber and Chamber liai-son for the Power of Heels. “These luncheons have so far been a great opportunity for us to hear about the ac-complishments of others that both inspire and edu-cate those in attendance.”

The group’s next meet-

ing takes place on Friday, May 29th. Burleson Police Department Deputy Chief Cindy Aaron and Texas Christian University Police Of cer Pamela Christian will be the speakers when Power of Heels presents: “The POW-her of Heels:

Keeping Women Safe.” Aaron has served with the Burleson PD since 1977 and Christian with TCU since 1998.

For more information on the Power of Heels, contact Larimore at the Burleson Chamber.

The Chamber recently added four new members to its Board of Directors.

Newly elected to the Board are Jason Bagley, Area Waste Solu-tions, Inc.; Devohn Pugh, Your New Neighborhood; Lisa Schwarz, Crazy8 Ministries; and Mary War-ren, Eliot Management Group. Elected directors serve a three-year terms on the Chamber’s Board.

These four join a dedicated slate of Directors already serving the Chamber in a leadership ca-pacity, including Aly Allen-Eng-strom, United Way; Craig Couch, Couch & Russell Financial Group; Kurt Jaeger, City Market; Lisa Keese, Service First Mortgage;

Phillip R. Marcantel, H-E-B; Bill Mecke, KWS Manufacturing Co.; Norman Meyer, Christian Broth-ers Automotive Center – Burle-son; Ruth Moor, Gonzo Strate-gies; Russ Richardson, Star Bank of Texas; Adam Russell, First Na-tional Bank of Burleson; and Russ Weaver, Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South.

When I was asked to run for the Board of Directors last fall, I felt it was a prestigious honor.”

Directors bring their collec-tive professional knowledge and

experience to the management of the Chamber, they also are will-ing and ready volunteers and rep-resentatives of the organization. They create a clear vision and share a common commitment to the Chamber’s success.
