Proudfit Michael B. Proudfit, 19, of 497 Walnut Street, St. Mary’s, PA, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Altoona Hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born May 13, 1992 in Portland, OR. He had resided in St. Mary’s, PA, since 2000. While living in Vancouver he attended St. Joseph Catholic School. He was a graduate of Elk County Catholic High School, Class of 2010, had attended Clarion University and was employed by Allegheny Coatings in Ridgeway. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, a former member of the St. Mary’s Area High School Swim Team, the Blue Tide Swim Team and had been on the Clarion University Swim Team. He is survived by his father, Richard Proudfit of St. Mary’s, PA; his mother, Julie Reuscher of St. Mary’s, PA; a sister, Kylee Proudfit at home; his maternal grandparents, Richard J. and Mary Lou Reuscher of St. Mary’s, PA; his paternal grandparents, Delbert and Lois Proudfit of Brush Prairie, WA; uncles, Steven Proudfit of Battle Ground, WA, Daniel Proudfit of Brush Prairie, WA, David Proudfit of Vancouver, WA; aunt, Susan Proudfit Hill of Post Falls, ID; cousins, Amber Proudfit Veach, Shelby Proudfit, Skye Proudfit Bloomquist, Taylor Proudfit, Max Proudfit, Mason Proudfit and Nathan White. Patricia Ann Tichrob lost her battle with liver cancer on March 6, 2012, with her family by her side. She was born to Kenneth and Ruth Raabe on November 30, 1942, in Chicago, IL, where her father was stationed while in the Navy. She lived in Amboy, WA, for 45 years with her loving husband, Ralph Tichrob, where they raised their three children; Craig Tichrob, twin daughters Barbara Laudadio and Rebecca Lawrence, and her two step children; Eric Tichrob and Chris Tichrob. She was a loving grandmother of 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was an active member in her church, and she was dedicated to her faith, family, and friends. She loved nature, art, and music, and found enjoyment in painting, drawing, reading, and family gatherings. She is survived by her husband, children, two sisters, and brother. Patricia Ann Tichrob Delores Alice Bryant, 77, passed away Feb. 26, 2012, with family by her side. Dee was born Nov. 22, 1934, near Braddock, ND, to Leonard and Mamie Roos. She was the eldest of seven children and is survived by three sisters, Laverne Wells, Marlene Munger and Lenore Browning; a brother, Roger Roos; a daughter, Genevieve Traub; two sons, Dean and Glenn Bryant; two grandsons, Robby and Willy Traub; a granddaughter, Zoie Bryant; and two great-grandchildren, Brooklynne and Noah Traub. Dee was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Roos; a sister, Bernice Smith; and a son, Kenton Bryant. She attended Battle Ground schools and graduated from Portland’s Lincoln High School in 1953. While raising her family in Kelso, Dee became a registered nurse in 1971. She retired from St. Johns Hospital in 1992 to Brush Prairie, WA. Dee loved small family gatherings, healthy cooking, gardening, feeding birds, watching hummingbirds, studying the Bible and the companionship of her poodle, Pepper. Dee was truly one of a kind and touched the hearts of many during her life. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of Dee’s life will be held in her garden this spring. Devin Higgins staff reporter The Woodland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has named John “J.J.” Burke as the new Chamber Director, re- placing Tammy Howard, who resigned in January. Burke is a long-time mem- ber of the Chamber through his computer repair business, and has been heavily involved in the Woodland community for over a decade, serving on the Plant- ers Day Festival committee as well as in his role as a current member of the City Council. “J.J. was a natural choice. He brings a deep and proven interest in seeing Woodland’s success not only in business, but in continuing to be a great community,” said Board Presi- dent Judy Bartlett. “I couldn’t be more excited to become the Chamber direc- tor because I care deeply about Woodland,” Burke said. “This is a really great Chamber with members who care very much about the communi- ty and show it by getting in- volved. I look forward to working with our membership, other businesses in town, and with our board to keep Woodland a great place to do business.” Burke moved to Woodland after retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. He’s a native of New Bedford, Mass, and the reign- ing Woodland Citizen of the Year. Burke officially starts as Chamber Director Monday, March 12. Devin Higgins staff reporter The Woodland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has named John “J.J.” Burke as the new Chamber Director, re-placing Tammy Howard, who resigned in January. Burke is a long-time mem-ber of the Chamber through his computer repair business, and has been heavily involved in the Woodland community for over a decade, serving on the Plant-ers Day Festival committee as well as in his role as a current member of the City Council. “J.J. was a natural choice. He brings a deep and proven interest in seeing Woodland’s success not only in business, but in continuing to be a great community,” said Board Presi-dent Judy Bartlett. “I couldn’t be more excited to become the Chamber direc-tor because I care deeply about

Woodland,” Burke said. “This is a really great C h a m b e r with members who care very much about the communi-ty and show it by getting in-volved. I look

forward to working with our membership, other businesses in town, and with our board to keep Woodland a great place to do business.” Burke moved to Woodland after retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. He’s a native of New Bedford, Mass, and the reign-ing Woodland Citizen of the Year. Burke officially starts as Chamber Director Monday, March 12.
