    and

    we enjoyed

    the

    the other

    mission

    Upon

    our return home we

    had

    Christmas

We want to thank all of you who

    Your love is a great

    blessing

    to

    In February , two health

    problems

    attacked

    Mary.

    She

    first

acquired a very serious sinus in

    fection

    that o weeks, mak

    head.

    We praise God for

    helping

    her

    through

    doctors

    and medi

cine. Next, she dealt with a

slipped disk and pinched nerve in

her lower back. She rece ived a

    week

    of t reatments, performed

    exercises at

    home,

    plus

    more o c

    casional treatments.

    We

    praise

    the

    Lord

    her back is

    much better.

    Please

    pray

    with us

    It is very

    hard

    for

    he r no t

    to

    be able

    to pick up

    the

    bab ies and little

    chi ldren.

    So

    much

    of

    the

    work here involves

    picking up and carrying.

    In

    t h e e a rly morn ing

    h o u r s

    of March 12,

    Imogene Carlson,

    87, peacefully stepped into glory

    while

    surrounded

    by

    he r

    family

    and loved

    ones.

    Imogene

    was

    the

    last

of the pre - WW mis

    sionaries to

    the

    Philippines. In

    March of

    1941, Imogene

    and Ray

    began

    their ministry in Cebu. The

    following year

    they

    were captured

    by

    the

    Imperial

    Japanese

    Army

and kept in internment camps un

    til their

    rescue

    by the US Army in

February of 1945. After the war

they returned to Cebu to continue

    their work of

    establishing

    Resto

ration Movement C hu rch es an d

    Cebu

    Bible Seminary. The Carl

    son's

    were

    part

    of Bert's life

    a s he l ived

    with

    and worked for

    them

    for 17 years.

    S c h o o l is ou t We we r e

    busy attending different school

    programs and graduations. Bert

finished ano ther yea r of school

    for his

    Masters,

    with only one

    se

    mester left to graduate. Our

    graduates were Joyce Palang-

    dao

    and Nella Capino, from high

    school, and

    Jaypee

    Marcelino

    and

Ian Bubod from the 6 th

    grade. Many of you sponsors

    their

    high school education. Jordan is

    considering

    this

    option.

    He is

    also

    considering

    Faith Academy

    (a missionary school) in Manila.

One of the deciding factors in his

    attending Faith Academy w be

financing. Since it w cost $600

    a month (room, board, tuition)

we are praying for the Lord's di

    rection. This

    would

    require

    an

    increase

    above

    our

    regular

    sup

    Sending

    children to

    boarding

    school

    is not

    done

    lightly,

    but

    with

    much

    prayer

    and preparation.

    Please

    pray with us about these

    decis ions .

Now THAT SUMMER IS UPON US

we have our entire family home.

    This

    includes 18

    teenagers

    plus

several 11-12 yr. o lds Summer

    a kitchen/dining room. A

youth camp will be held there

    this

    month,

    using lean- to 's made

    The

    We

    remaining funds needed. Once

we have a school building (sepa

    the chapel)

    we

    will

    M e s s a q e s

    from Mary & Ber t

    Dear Partne rs

    in th e Lord;

The Lord is the everlasting God,

    th e Creator of the

    ends

    of the earth.

    ewill

not grow tired or weary, and

    his understanding no one can

fathom. He gives strength to the

weary and increases the power of

the weak. Even youths grow tired

and weary, and young men stumble

and fall; but those who hope in the

Lord will renew their strength. They

    will

soar on wings like eagles; they

will run and not grow weary, they

    will

    walk and not be

    faint.

    They held seminars in

    Their last

    included a big

    They

    We

so very thankful for all the work

    that

    Eldon

    and

    his companions put

forth to give us this wonderful time.

    Besides

    paying for the materials for

the guesthouse, the group also gave

    because of

    because

    he
