Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom
• Bunyoro is a kingdom in Western Uganda. It was one of the most powerful kingdoms in Central and East Africa from the 13th century to the 19th century.
• It is ruled by the Omukama of Bunyoro. And the current ruler is Solomon Iguru I, the 27th Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara.
• Bunyoro kitara kingdom includes districts of Hoima, Masindi, Kibale, Buliisa,Biryandongo Kikuube, Kagadi,Kakumiro and others
• On September 17, 1967 Obote abolished the kingdoms of Ankole, Buganda, Bunyoro and chieftaincy of Busoga
• Traditional Rulers (Restitution of Assets and Properties) Act 1993

• Bugoma forest Reserve was created by the forest Reserve Declaration order S.1No 63 of 1998
• The Land at kyangwali is an ancestral site being part of the restituted properties No 5 on the list
• The 5579htrs of titled land is outside Bugoma forest Reserve and this is area costitutes a private forest with many accasiatrees under the control of Bunyoro kitara kingdom

• Kyangwali Ancestral land is majorly a grass land and there is evidence of human habitation
• Muhangaizima has remnants of bricks which confirms that the area was a restituted property.
• Kyangwali Ancestral land has never been surveyed or alienated by government as Bugoma forest Reserve
