Just a quick update on Capital Trainings Summer Bungalow Project. The project officially commenced on 28th June, and since then we’ve had a great attendance, with more and more young adults coming in by the day. All the attendees have fully integrated into the project, and seem really excited about the prospect of completing the bungalow and learning what is involved in working in the construction industry. When asked why they are here most have replied they want to learn construction skills they can use in the future.

So far the works been based around getting the timber frames prepared and in place. This has now been completed and the candidates are moving on to the next tasks with increased exuberance, eager to continue applying what they’re learning in a practical setting.

Everyone’s also very excited about the competitions Capital Training will be running, and the prizes on offer. We are running a raffle competition, with the draw taking place at the end of project barbecue on 11th September, which you are of course invited to. The prizes on offer include Paintball tickets, restaurant vouchers at Tiger Tiger and Chiquitos, watches, Cardiff Blues Rugby tickets, Glamorgan Cricket Tickets, Free DIY course tick-ets, a CD Player, a hamper from Unilever and IPOD speakers, plus more.

Over the next couple of months a film crew from Media 4 Schools will be calling in each week to film the Bungalow Project. This will be made into a short documentary and you all have the chance to star in it! If you would like to come down and say a few words for the cameras, about your company and your donation to the project, then please get in touch!
