May God bless you abundantly. *OPENING HYMN “All Creatures of Our God and King” 43 [R] *CALL TO WORSHIP {Heidelberg Catechism Lord’s Day 31} Leader: What are the keys of the kingdom? People: The preaching of the Holy Gospel and Christian discipline toward repentance. Both of them open the Kingdom of Heaven to believers and close it to unbelievers. Leader: How does preaching the Holy Gospel open and close the Kingdom of Heaven? People: The Kingdom of Heaven is opened by proclaiming and publicly declaring to all believers that, as often as they accept the Gospel Promise in true faith, God, because of Christ's Merit, truly forgives all their sins. *PRAYER OF INVOCATION Loving God, give us open hearts, as open and eager as a toddler’s first steps. Give us open ears, that we may hear Your Words fresh and wild, comforting and challenging us. Give us open hands, ready to receive a blessing and willing to offer gentle care. Loving God, show us the depths of Your Grace in these precious moments and in Your Holy Word. Amen. *PRAISE HYMN “How Great Thou Art” 1 [R] *PRAYER OF CONFESSION Creator of the Universe, through a word You brought everything into existence. Yet, we think we can somehow approach You based on our own works. Forgive us for depending on our sinful accom-plishments. Help us to depend solely on Christ’s Merit. Amen. *ASSURANCE OF PARDON {Psalm 130:3-4, 7-8} If You, O Lord, should mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, so that You may be revered. O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with Him is great power to redeem. It is He who will redeem Israel from all its iniquities. The following items have been requested: Colored Pencils, Dry Erase Markers, Book Bags, Wide Rules Loose leaf notebook Paper, Glue Sticks, pencils/erasers, reams of copy paper, and Wal-Mart Gift Cards (for Science Experiments in conjunction with new standards).
