    In those days those in the community whohad been dispersed by the persecutionthat arose because of Stephen went as faras Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, makingthe message known to none but Jews.However, some men of Cyprus and Cyreneamong them who had come to Antiochbegan to talk even to the Greeks,announcing the good news of the Lord

The hand of the Lord waswith them and a great number of thembelieved and were converted to the Lord.News of this eventually reached the ears ofthe church in Jerusalem, resulting inBarnabas being sent to Antioch. On hisarrival he rejoiced to see the evidence ofGods favor. He encouraged them all toremain firm in their commitment to theLord, since he himself was a good manfilled with the Holy Spirit and faith.Thereby large numbers were added to theLord. Then Barnabas went off to Tarsus tolook for Saul; once he had found him, hebrought him back to Antioch. For a wholeyear they met with the church andinstructed great numbers. It was inAntioch that the disciples were calledChristians for the first time. This made thedisciples determine to set somethingaside, each according to his means, andsend it to the relief of brothers who livedin Judea. They did this, dispatching it tothe presbyters in the care of Barnabas andSaul.

  • Christ is Risen replaces: Blessed is he who comes, We have seen the true light, May our mouthsbe filled, Blessed be the name of the Lord, and Glory be to the Father. at the dismissal.

    At the conclusion of Liturgy, Christ is Risen is sung three times as at the beginning, but with the additionof: And to us He has granted life eternal, we bow down before His resurrection on the third day.

Please list thenames of mothers you would like to have prayed for, and return them as soon as possible.
