A reading from the Holy Gospel othe Lord according to Saint Matth(25:31-46)

The Lord Jesus said: When the Son ofMan comes in his glory, and all the anwith him, then he will sit on the thronehis glory. All the nations will be gatherbefore him, and he will separate peopone from another as a shepherdseparates the sheep from the goats, he will put the sheep at his right hand the goats at the left. Then the king wilto those at his right hand, Come, youare blessed by my Father, inherit thekingdom prepared for you from thefoundation of the world; for I was hung

and you gave me food, I was thirsty ayou gave me something to drink, I wastranger and you welcomed me, I wanaked and you gave me clothing, I wasick and you took care of me, I was inprison and you visited me. Then therighteous will answer him, Lord, whenwas it that we saw you hungry and gayou food, or thirsty and gave yousomething to drink? And when was it twe saw you a stranger and welcomedyou, or naked and gave you clothing? when was it that we saw you sick or inprison and visited you? And the king wanswer them, Truly I tell you, just as ydid it to one of the least of these who members of my family, you did it to mThen he will say to those at his left haYou that are accursed, depart from minto the eternal fire prepared for the dand his angels; for I was hungry and ygave me no food, I was thirsty and yogave me nothing to drink, I was a straand you did not welcome me, naked ayou did not give me clothing, sick and

prison and you did not visit me. Thenalso will answer, Lord, when was it thwe saw you hungry or thirsty or astranger or naked or sick or in prisondid not take care of you? Then he willanswer them, Truly I tell you, just as ydid not do it to one of the least of thesyou did not do it to me. And these wilaway into eternal punishment, but therighteous into eternal life.

This is the truth. Peace be with you.

A reading from the Letter the Hebrews (12:18-24)

    Your Blessing Father

You have not come to something that can be touched, a blazing fire, and darkness, and gloom, and a tempest, and the sound of a trumpet, and a voice whose wordsmade the hearers beg that not another word be spoken to them. (For they could notendure the order that was given, If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall bestoned to death. Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, I tremble withfear.) But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenlyJerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of thefirstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits ofthe righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to thesprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

    Praise be to God always.

    Sunday, my Day

Sunday, the Lords Day, is the principal day for

celebration of the Eucharist because it is the day of the

Resurrection. It is the pre-eminent day of the liturgicalassembly, the day of joy and rest from work. Sunday is

the foundation and kernel of the whole liturgical year.

The Church, in the course of the year, unfolds the whole mystery of Christ

from his Incarnation and Nativity through the Ascension, to Pentecost and the

expectation of the blessed hope of the coming of the Lord. (Catechism of

    the Catholic Church 1193/1194).
