* Greetings of Christian Fellowship
* Call to Worship
With thanksgiving on my tongue, I sing praise for the feet of the saints who walked
this path long before me who pointed out this path to me who cleared the path with
me.
With thanksgiving on my tongue, I sing praise for the wisdom of the saints who
shared their vision of God’s ways who lived faithfully by God’s ways who loved
God all the way.
With thanksgiving on my tongue, I sing praise for the cloaks of the saints that
sheltered my weary soul from the dust that marked my life for a new adventure that
gave me some flair for the dance.
With thanksgiving on your tongue, now sing praise for the voices of the saints
who named God within you who evoked God from you who gave God to you.

What is in a Christmas Shoebox?
Love. Shoebox Christmas gifts are built from love for children that might not otherwise
get a Christmas gift. On the reservations of North and South Dakota, up to 70 percent of
the children would not get a Christmas gift if not for the Shoebox Christmas Gift program
and the generosity of the people that donate to this wonderful program.
To start, wrap the bottom and top of the box separately (this will
allow the volunteers to insert the story of the birth of Jesus). Then
fill with age-appropriate items such as the suggestions on the list
available in the Fellowship Area. Place a rubber band around the
box and the top, then put a small note with the age group and
gender of the child on top of the box. You have just built a box of
love. The age groups are: Infant – 2 years; 3-5 years; 6-8 years; 9-
11 years; 12-14 years; 15 and up.
If you are unable to wrap a box, some pre-wrapped boxes are available in the Fellowship
Area. The finished boxes need to be returned and ready for pick-up in mid-November for
distribution in December. Because of the difficulty in matching sizes, please do not
include clothing except for hats, mittens and scarves.
Giving Statements are available on a table in the
lobby. Please remember to pick it up to save us
some postage!
MCCI Dates:
We will provide two more town hall meetings to discuss the MCCI report given to us.
Please take note of the underlined date. This date is rescheduled from November 1.
November 2: Town-Hall Meeting 7:00 p.m.
November 15: Town-Hall Meeting 11:15 a.m.
November 22: Special Charge Conference to Vote on
MCCI 11:00 a.m.
We will take a vote at the Charge Conference to decide whether to accept the
prescriptions given to us or not. If we accept them, the conference will continue to work
with us, providing support and training in our prescription areas. Everyone is encouraged
to attend one of these town hall meetings and the Charge Conference.
To go along with the Earn.Save.Give. program, Wesley church is
providing a book of devotional readings to each family or individual for
you to take home and use over the next few weeks. This little book
provides the basics of Wesley’s teachings on money, plus daily
devotions, weekly follow-up activities and a service of commitment.
Please be sure to pick one up today. Funding for these books was
provided by Wesley UMC Endowment Foundation.
Need your lawn raked?
Would you like to help a local nonprofit at the same time?
UND Honors students along with volunteers from the Iowa
State, and University of Iowa chapters of Delta Upsilon, are
raking leaves October 31st and November 7
th to raise money
for the Global Friends Coalition, a nonprofit helping to
integrate New Americans into the greater Grand Forks
community. All donations to Global Friends Coalition will be
matched by the Otto Bremer Foundation. These funds
will be utilized to launch new educational opportunities for New Americans in our
community. If you would like your lawn raked, please email [email protected] or call

All Saints Litany Prayer
We remember the great ancestors of our faith, from Abraham and Sarah, to Paul and
Phoebe:
Ancestors of the faith, we remember you.
We remember the prophets and priests, the ministers and teachers who have taught us
the way of God:
Teachers of the faith, we remember you.
We remember our grandparents and parents, aunts and uncles, those who have gone
before us in our lifetime:
Family of our faith, we remember you.
We lift up the memories of children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, husbands
and wives and parents whose lives ended too soon:
Those close in our heart, we remember you.
We lift up to You, O God, the names of those we have lost in this past year from our
lives, knowing that they are with Your heart forever. As your loved one’s name is
read, please stand.
(Please read the names from left to right)
Harry Holloway (6-7-14) David Peterson (7-1-14) Louise Triskle (7-6-14)
Tom Marler (7-9-14) Isis Lynch (7-24-14) Shirley Cascaden (7-31-14)
Audrey Williams (10-6-14) Richard Farroh (10-21-14) Roberta Cable (11-1-14)
Rod Clark (12-3-14) Robert Nordlie (1-8-15) Cathy Marler (5-25-15)
Karen Griffin (7-25-15) Kent Cable (7-30-15) Colleen Nygaard (10-17-15)
We celebrate the lives of those we have named, O God, and lift up many more names
in our hearts.
Family of God, we remember you, and we honor you. We know you are with us
in the spirit of worship, and you will not be forgotten.
We give thanks, O God, for all who have gone on to join with You beyond this life. We
trust in the hope of resurrection and the promise of new life in Christ, and know that
in our grief and celebration, O God, You are with us through it all, and we are not
left alone. In the name of Christ, in whom love lives forever, we pray.
Amen.
