Welcome to AHF Live: The 2016 Affordable Housing Developers Summit. Thank you all for coming. For those of you returning to the conference, it’s great to have you back. Your continued support means the world to us. And, for those of you attending for the first time, we’re thrilled that you’re here and hope you enjoy your time with us.
We have a big three days planned with educational sessions and plenty of networking opportunities for you to reconnect with your colleagues as well as make new contacts. Be sure to tour the exhibit hall and talk with the best service providers in the industry.
On Tuesday, we kick off the conference at 1:30 p.m. with the always provocative State of the Industry Power Panel. This executive-level forum featuring the nation’s leading developers, finance executives, and housing officials will dig into the industry’s top issues. The November election results, financing trends, and pressures on the low-income housing tax credit program will be among the topics discussed.
Wednesday is packed with informative workshops that provide an opportunity to learn directly from the industry’s most experienced and innovative developers. New sessions include Supportive Housing Solutions and Developing for Mixed-Income and Mixed Populations. A highlight will be the Affordable Housing Finance Magazine Awards Ceremony. Come celebrate and get inspired by this year’s top affordable housing developments, Young Leaders, and Hall of Fame inductees. A reception will follow.
On Thursday, stay for the big Tax Credit Equity Power Panel. Leading syndicators and investors will share their insight on what’s happening in the critical housing credit market. We also have several exciting sessions in the morning, including the Women in Affordable Housing Roundtable, Preservation of Older LIHTC Deals forum, and the new Lessons from Great Developers panel.
We want you to get the most out of your time at AHF Live. In all our sessions, we encourage audience participation, so if you have questions, ask the speakers and interact with your colleagues. Also, be sure to fill out an evaluation form through the conference app and introduce yourself to the AHF team. We’d love to hear from you.
Thank you again, and enjoy the conference.

ION ENERGY SOLUTIONS BOOTH # 15ION Energy Solutions is a distributor of a patented Smart-Metering Solution. The H2O Degree Smart Metering point-of-use water, gas and electric smart-meters for multifamily residential. H2O Degree Smart Metering. Why Smart-Meter? How can you afford not to? That is what the nation’s largest REITs are saying. Simply put, you’re losing money if you don’t. Utility costs continually rise and residents use more when the amount they pay does not vary with consumption. Worse still, your property value is diminished as a result.
There are many good reasons to Smart-Meter:
Utility submetering dramatically increases property value more than any other ancillary service or comparable capital investment
Utility submetering provides residents with fair utility bills that acurately reflect their use (allocation does not) so residents are happier and don’t move -Utility rates are rising 10% per year on average submetering protects you
Payback can be as quick at one to two years
Utility submetering helps to conserve water and energy and protect the environment
