Introduction to the PC OMUThe PC OMU is auxiliary software developed on the basis of the OMU software of Windows version. The PC OMU enables Huawei engineers to operate the OMU software on their PCs. Different from the installation-free PC OMU software of the BSC6000, the PC OMU of the BSC6900 is not independent software but a software package of the BSC6900. The software package can be installed on the PCs of Huawei engineers through the install_bam -p command. With the PC OMU installed, Huawei engineers can perform many operations through their PCs, such as verify the data configuration through the license file in offline mode, verify a script, and demonstrate how to use the PC OMU. The PC OMU supports the following functions: Data configuration through MML commands and panel display on the LMT (optional). The PC OMU does not support the following functions: Alarm, performance counters, and maintenance.

To improve the performance of the PC OMU installed on the PC, certain functions of the PC OMU are disabled by default. These functions include device panel display, FTP tool, alarm, tracing, and monitoring. If you perform these functions by clicking the corresponding buttons on the LMT, the system will wait until the operation expires. The device panel display function, however, can be enabled according to the related descriptions in chapter 4 .The PC OMU works in built-in OMU board mode by default. It can also be switched from the built-in OMU board mode to the external BAM server mode. Note that the PC OMU is provided for only Huawei engineers. Presenting the PC OMU to operators or cooperation partners is not allowed.Hardware Configuration Requirements for the PCHard disk: There must be more than 1 GB free space (including 512-MB virtual memory) on the C disk and more than 1.5 GB free space on the destination hard disk.Memory: 1 GB memory is recommended and the minimum configuration is 512 MB (the virtual memory must be able to occupy more than 2 GB space on the hard disk).CPU: P4 or above
