Way to go, OU ASDA and future dental students! The spring edition of ASDA GetFIT week was great fun, filled with a smoothie bar, Zumba, a yogurt parfait bar, and salad bar complete with nutritional consultations and BMI testing. To cap off the week, OU ASDA hosted a night of bowling at Dust Bowl Lanes and Lounge in Midtown. DS2 Jared Gibbons said, “The venue was perfect because all age groups and social groups seemed pretty well represented, and if you're up for a good old-fashioned rowdy time with your friends and classmates, this event nailed it.” Be on the lookout for more fun events from OU ASDA’s GetFIT program! OKMoM 2015 The first OKMoM was held in Tulsa, OK in 2010. This year, the event is coming back to where it all began six years ago. DS1 Ramina Golshani is especially excited about the event. Golshani said, “This will be my fifth time to volunteer at OKMoM, and what I’m looking forward to most is definitely hearing all of the positive feedback from the patients. No matter how long they had to wait in line outside in the cold, you never hear about that. They only express their sincerest gratitude for the free dental care that they have received, and I love hearing that from patient after patient.” DS1 Carmen Martinez is also very exited about the event. “I’m looking forward to seeing all of the volunteers come back another year. It always amazes me each year seeing everyone come together for one purpose: to give back to our community.” This will be Carmen’s third year to volunteer at the event. OKMoM will be held this weekend, February 6-7, at the Tulsa- Cox Business Center. GETFIT WEEK
