Now in its 14th year, the annual La Salle University

School of Business Golf Outing, renamed this year

as The Friends of Brother Gerry Fitzgerald Golf

Outing, has grown to attract more than 100 attendees.

Each year, we welcome alumni, corporate partners,

and friends of the School of Business who join

together in support of our students.

We continue to be proud of our efforts

and of your support and look forward

to seeing you on Sept. 21 at Lu Lu.

BROTHER GERALD FITZGERALD

“Think back to your days as a college student. At a time when you were searching for direction and guidance, there was one teacher who stood out from the rest and made a difference in your life.”

For many La Salle students, Brother Gerald Fitzgerald, F.S.C., is that teacher. Renaming this event as The Friends of Brother Gerry Fitzgerald Golf Outing recognizes the commitment and service of Br. Gerry.

In 1965, Gerry Fitzgerald followed his calling to join the Brothers of the Christian Schools, a religious order dedicated to teaching. Br. Gerry, a Mount Airy native, knew that he wanted to be a teacher since his high school days at Cardinal Dougherty. That desire was reinforced when he entered La Salle College as a member of the Class of 1970. He graduated with a B.S. in accounting and later returned to La Salle to earn his MBA in 1981.

Br. Gerry’s dedication to his students is evident in his perpetual availability outside the classroom. He serves as an academic adviser, represents the School of Business at open houses for high school students, and coordinates class visits for accepted students. He is described as one of the University’s greatest assets.
