A.Y.S.Parisutha Nadar in whose memory this trust has been

instituted, stood tall as a philanthropist and a prominent citizen of

this delta region, Thanjavur. He served three terms as M.L.A of

Thanjavur and was responsible for putting into eect the various

social welfare measures for the people of Thanjavur. . He was an

“inspirer” and “transformer” who is revered and held in the highest

regard for bringing a Medical College to this region during the

1950’s. In his good will he had contributed to the growth of the

society to a great deal. He is known for his words and deeds,

principles and ideals, “he practiced what he spoke and spoke what

he practiced” - for helping and caring for the poor and the down

trodden in this region.

CHALLENGE THE CHALLENGETHEME OF THE YEAR - 2020-2021

The pandemic has brought far reaching changes across the world. It is important to stay resilient and face these changes

with courage and optimism. The need of the hour is resilient leadership that will respond, recover and thrive as the world

works itself out of this crisis. Being transparent and earning the trust of all that they do will be the hallmark of leaders who

are far sighted. They will take bold steps to bring in untested strategies which can help their organizations to bounce

back and move forward and create even more value than ever before and create a positive impact on society. GSB’s

students have been put through a rigorous program and they have the right attitude to show resilience and serve their

leaders best. We are confident that this crisis will deepen their resolve to prove their mettle in these challenging times.

B-school students have a lot to learn from the responses of government and industry this year. To quote Denis Waitley

from the Empires of Minds -“There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the

responsibility for changing them”. GSB has proposed to choose the theme -“Challenge the Challenge” for the year

2020-21 to ensure hope, change and transformation in education, business and society at large.

CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGEWhatever has been developed for the 20th-century workforce is being dismantled and

reconstructed. Education institutions are no exception to this. We must re-assess our roles now

and decide how we should evolve and develop for the future. We will have to acknowledge that

the pathways of the future will be better served by alternative, innovative teaching-learning

models that will necessitate using newer technologies and blended teaching styles and our

faculty must be adept at learning new skills – to meet these new challenges.

As we march past our decennial year and beyond, our B-school has been continuously evolving

- pursuing and inculcating several innovative ways of teaching, learning and experience-sharing

methodologies. This has been made possible by the resources of our qualified and experienced

faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern computer lab with Wi-Fi and the spacious

well-stocked Library.

We create individuals who want to be leaders in business in the world of tomorrow through

helping them acquire a broad set of knowledge, attitude and skills. Our mission is to nurture and

train managers and leaders with a social conscience and the ability to deliver performance and

attain excellence in their performance. GSB inculcates human values and professional ethics in

the students, which make them independent in decision making and create a path that is good

not only for them, but also for our society and for our nation.

Shri. S.P Selvaraj,

Chairman

Gnanam School of Busines

Page 9: Brochure Revised Nov10

“Go wide, nurture an inquisitive, enterprising and curious outlook and learn new

things”. You just need a spark to kindle your true passion in life. There is more to

success than a well-paying job. It is defined by the challenges that push one’s mind,

the goals that take one higher and the nurturing relationships that give meaning and

purpose to one’s life.

We at GSB, are focused on creating professional managers – individuals equipped

with the right kind of knowledge, technical skills and an ability to think out of box and

be innovative. As industries raise the bar on their expectations from B-school

graduates only those who have the right attitude and are ready to learn new skills to

keep themselves will be the winners. Hard work alone is no more the key to success

but our budding managers are expected to work smarter and consistently without

failure.

I am indeed happy to convey that we are on the right track creating a symbiotic

relationship between industry and the academia through a mutual exchange of

practical and theoretical aspects of management knowledge, judiciously blended

with professional expertise and committed to impart management education that is

complete for preparing our students to become well rounded modern day managers.

Yours Sincerely,

Dr. S.P.S.Arul Doss, CEO,

Gnanam School of Business
