If the order includes a EVA 4400 Starter Kit, then a FactoryExpress Engagement Program Manager is engaged to help

Step 2: Factory Express team verifies order, performs hardware

config, including firmware verification/updating, and LUNcreation (if EVA4400 purchased with Starter Kit)

Step 3: Customer contacted by Technology Services projectmanager to complete pre-install checklist (SDR)

Customer contact name is taken from the SDR

Two things to consider for mixing Server Blade types in an enclosure aresize (full height/half height) and I/O capabilityAll Integrity Blades are full height and thus require the enclosure quadrant support shelf tobe removed

Later generation Servers have full bandwidth capability in all mezz slots and integratedFlex-10 capable or FlexFabric network controllers

Configuration rulesINTEGRITY SERVER BLADE UPGRADES

An upgrade creates a new server, so all rules for CPU, memory, and IOmust be followed CPU SKUs must match across the new system

Memory configuration must follow loading rules for the new server Minimum memory

Memory types (e.g. 2GB DIMMs not supported in BL870c i2 or BL890c i2)

Server bay position and partner blade position rules must be followed Partner blade must be in the same quad as the monarch (i.e. BL870c i2 upgrade must use BL2E

Blade Link and partner blade must be in the slot to the left.)

Minimum firmware and software versions are required for upgrades BL8x0c i2 server firmware version 21.06

Installation ProcessINTEGRITY SERVER BLADE UPGRADES

System Check Check system for minimum required firmware (server, OA, VC) and update if necessary

Add Resources Power down system, unassign VC profiles, remove original Blade Link

Install upgrade blades (as appropriate) and Upgrade Blade Link

System information exchanged serial number and UUID is transferred from the monarchof the upgrade system both electronically and physically using the system label carrier

Final Check Perform final check of system and update firmware as necessary

Assign VC profile (if applicable)

Reinstall Operating Environment as necessary*

Update Support Upgrade OE license

Register for warranty for upgrade server

Update support contract

* Non-reinstall cases will be supported in the future

When the customer moves to a higher HW tier, a new SW license isrequired.

For BL8x0c i2 Upgrades, HP-UX will offer credit for the original license tobe applied to the purchase price of the new license. (Partial Credit) Each license on a lower tier can be traded-in towards the purchase of a license on thetarget tier. The original license is surrendered to and a new license is issued.

The credit reflects the current price of the original license, not the original purchase price. The credit cannot exceed the purchase price of the new license.
