Why do I need performance testing?

Performance testing helps to detect bottlenecks in an application, configuration, network, database, and hardware that you may otherwise not find until production. How does Velocity work?

Velocity has been successfully delivered to many customers of various sizes, across many industries—even those with the strictest IT security policies. Since Velocity is set up to be a remote service (which eliminates travel costs), VIP works within your IT security guidelines. This provides a secure, remote connection to our data center to execute the performance testing. Your data remains secure and behind your firewall. Only the performance statistics are transmitted to VIP’s secure servers to compile and generate your findings. In order to develop the performance-testing scripts and run the tests, you supply your assigned VIP engineer with remote access to your environment and application.

If you need to test your system from the Internet, VIP can generate the required user load for those Internet-facing applications from our hosted data center. The Velocity solution includes the use of the VIP load generators, which can generate 100 Mb/s of data over different carriers.

Although there will be similarities, your performance testing needs won’t be exactly like anyone else’s. You’ll have your own unique challenges and aggressive timelines. That’s why VIP works with each customer to understand the goal of the testing and develop scripts that meet these needs. And every script written for you is yours and stays with you.
