Broadband Phone Adapter QUICK INSTALLATION GUIDE 1 1 Computer* Your Telephone* WHAT YOU NEED: SET UP: Phone Ports 1 and 2 Connect to your telephones Broadband Phone Adapter SPA-2102 Ethernet Port Connect to Your PCs Internet Port Connect to the Internet (WAN) Power Jack Connect to Power Adapter Phone Cord* Ethernet Cable 2* Power Adapter 2 2 Make sure you have all of the following items: Follow these instructions if you have Qwest ® Broadband Service or cable broadband service. If you have a DSL service from another provider that requires you to enter User Name and Password (PPPoE), or need instructions for an alternative setup, use the User Manual located on line at www.qwest.com/mybroadbandphone. Shut down your computer. Disconnect the power to your DSL or cable modem. Plug in the Power Adapter to the Power Jack on your Broadband Phone Adapter. Plug the Power Adapter into an electrical outlet. Wait for approximately three minutes. Turn on your computer. Pick up your telephone handset. If you hear a dial tone, your setup is complete. You can now place calls. If you do not hear a dial tone, go to www.qwest.com/mybroadbandphone for additional troubleshooting steps. If your modem is connected to the computer through a USB port, remove the USB cable from the modem and computer. You will not need the USB cable. Connect one end of the Blue Cable to the Ethernet port on your DSL or cable modem. Connect the other end of the Blue Cable to the Blue port (labeled Internet) on your Broadband Phone Adapter. Note: Ethernet port looks similar to a regular phone jack but is slightly wider. If your DSL or cable modem does not have an available Ethernet port, Connect your computer with another Ethernet cable (not included) to the Yellow port (labeled “Ethernet”) on your Broadband Phone Adapter. If your DSL or cable modem has an available Ethernet port, connect your computer directly to your DSL or cable modem. Connect a telephone to the Green port labeled “Phone 1” on your Broadband Phone Adapter using a phone cord (not included). If you subscribed to two Broadband Phone lines, connect a second telephone to the Green port labeled “Phone 2” with another phone cord (not included). Make sure you have all of the following items:

Follow these instructions if you have Qwest® Broadband Service or cable broadband service. If you have a DSLservice from another provider that requires you to enter User Name and Password (PPPoE), or need instructions foran alternative setup, use the User Manual located on line at www.qwest.com/mybroadbandphone.

Shut downyour computer.

Disconnect thepower to yourDSL or cablemodem.

Plug in the Power Adapter to thePower Jack on your BroadbandPhone Adapter. Plug the PowerAdapter into an electrical outlet.

Wait for approximately threeminutes.

Turn on your computer.

Pick up your telephone handset.

If you hear a dial tone, your setup iscomplete. You can now place calls.

If your modem isconnected to thecomputer through a USBport, remove the USBcable from the modemand computer. You willnot need the USB cable.

If your DSL or cable modem has an availableEthernet port, connect your computer directlyto your DSL or cable modem.

Connect a telephone to the Greenport labeled “Phone 1” on yourBroadband Phone Adapter using aphone cord (not included).

If you subscribed to twoBroadband Phone lines, connect asecond telephone to the Greenport labeled “Phone 2” withanother phone cord (not included).

Reconnect the power toyour DSL or cablemodem following theinstructions providedwith your modem.

Wait approximately twominutes.
