inform and provide a forum for discussionabout some of the most pressing issues ofthe day.The NTDA, itself principal sponsor of Brityrex,has partnered with show organisers ECIInternational and some of the industry’s lead -ing figures will be addressing the subjects in
hand. What’s interesting about the Tyre Talkapproach is that, to ensure that as manypeople as possible have the opportunity toattend, some of the subjects are repeated onmore than one day.The idea is that the concise talks competent-ly address some of the main concerns of thetyre trade while at the same time, becausethey are comparatively short, visitors will stillhave all the time they need to visit the rest ofthe show’s attractions.

In the run-up to Brityrex, Tyres &Accessories like many others iseagerly anticipating what willtake place during show weekitself. We have been tracking
the progress of the show since the lastevent closed its doors in 2010, repor-ting throughout the planning processbefore printing a comprehensive pre-view in our September issue and(thanks to the WiFi available atEventCity) this year our coverage willcontinue electronically throughout theshow itself.
It has to be said that the 2012event represents a fresh approach tothe well-known tyre show. The factthat Brityrex is a dedicated tyre andrelated equipment show within theBritish Isles makes it unique already.And this is one reason why Tyres &Accessories, which has itself beenreporting on the tyre markets fromthese shores for some 66 years, is plea-sed to sponsor this exhibition. Themove into a new venue and the additi-
on of new Tyre-Talk seminars now offera bigger draw.
October also represents a goodmonth for the exhibition to be held.Firstly, with new tyre labelling andTPMS legislation set to take effect fromNovember it represents a great time forindustry friends, colleagues and evencompetitors to come together collateexperience and cross-pollinate ideasand solution. But it also sits nicely inparallel with the popular NTDA annualdinner and our very industry “Oscars”,the Tyre And Fast Fit (TAFF) awards.While not actually on-site at EventCity,there are still likely to be lots of peoplemaking the trip to Manchester with aview to catching both events.

In some ways the internationaldimension of the show is also indicativeof the market at large.
