We will accept one of the following which states that you have reached minimum level A1 on CEFR (B1 from 3March 2010): a secondary school attendance record or leaving certificate showing you have had English classes for 3-5 years; a secondary school examinationcertificate showing a level of English achievement; an attendance certificate from evening classes in English language; college or University certificate showingattendance and achievement in an English course; previous IELTS test score; University of Cambridge ESOL certificate; proof of level certificate from anauthorised University of Cambridge ESOL examination centre; TOEFL certificate; TOEIC certificate; a reference from an appropriately qualified person to state thatyou have previously studied English, citing course name and dates. The referee must also give their contact details on headed paper and interview you toconfirm your level of English is sufficient for the course.We will reimburse the cost of an examination, up to the value of 100, for students not currently holding one of the above on successful completion of theexamination and on presentation of receipt. Students below level A1 (B1 from 3 March 2010) should apply for a Student Visitor Visa and then return home and

    CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT 9. We will confirm courses on the basis of receiving adeposit of 250.

    1. All course fees must be received before the coursestarts. Sometimes it can take several days for themoney to arrive if you send it through the banks. It isyour responsibility to make sure that it arrives in time.All bank charges must be paid by the students.

    2. The school reserves the right to refuse admission toany student or to dismiss any student in the event ofmisconduct or unsatisfactory attendance or work,

    without refund of fees.3. Travel, examination fees, coursebooks and the costsof social activities are not included in the fees.4. No liability is accepted by the school for loss ofproperty or damage to property. We stronglyrecommend students to take out insurance to covertheir possessions, as well as medical insurance forthemselves.5. We reserve the right to cancel or alter a course or tochange course timings. If we do so, we will offer analternative course or a refund.6. Holiday allowance: 1 week per 12 weeks studied.

    7. Students should arrive Saturday or Sunday at theiraccommodation. For students wishing to arrive on aMonday, Tuesday or Wednesday, one full weeksaccommodation charge will apply. For studentsarriving from Thursday onwards a nightly rate willapply (weekly rate divided by 7). All midweek arrivalsare subject to availability and may not be possibleyear-round please check before booking.8. With respect to accommodation, we requirenotification of visa confirmation at least 10 daysbefore arrival.

    AMENDMENT CHARGES1. An administration fee of 25 will apply for studentswishing to change their course or accommodation inany way. Please note that visa national studentsapplying for a General Student Visa (GSV), may notmake any changes to their application once they havebeen issued with a Confirmation of Acceptance for

    Studies (CAS).2. For students wishing to change school location, e.g.from London to Oxford, a second registration fee willnot be charged. However, students wishing to bookadditional accommodation will be charged a 45accommodation finding fee.3. Students wishing to move to another British StudyCentres school will not gain credit if changing to aschool with lower fees.CANCELLATION CHARGES1. If a course is cancelled more than 1 week beforethe starting date, there is a 50 administration charge.If accommodation has also been arranged, there is an

    additional accommodation finding fee of 45.2. If the course is cancelled less than 1 week beforethe start date, there is an administration charge of50. If accommodation has been arranged, there is acancellation charge of the accommodation finding feeplus one weeks accommodation charges.3. If a course is cancelled less than 24 hours beforethe course starts or after the student has started thereis no refund in any circumstances. If the course islonger than 4 weeks, a credit will be given for theunused part of the course after 4 weeks. This may be

    used within one year and cannot be transferred toanother student.4. If homestay accommodation is cancelled after astudent has arrived at the accommodation, twoweeks notice must be given, or two weeksaccommodation charge paid. If a student requests tochange accommodation, an additional accommodationfinding fee will be charged. If a student decides toleave the accommodation and asks for a refund, thiswill be possible for those weeks remaining as long as

    two weeks notice is given.5. Students wishing to extend their accommodationmust give 2 weeks notice. We can not guarantee theavailability of the same homestay. A 45accommodation finding fee will be charged in theevent that the same homestay is not available and anew homestay must be found.6. If a student cancels a student house, fees will notbe refunded unless a replacement booking is found.7. If a student cancels a course because they areunable to get a visa and they can provide writtenevidence of this from the relevant Embassy orConsulate, we will make an administration charge of50, but we will refund all course fees.

    Accommodation charges apply as above.FORCE MAJEURE1. In the event of 'force majeure' such as fire,flooding, infectious diseases and other events outsidethe company's reasonable control which may causethe closure of the school, no refund of fees will bemade to students, except at the school's discretion inexceptional circumstances.
