A Calling to Sturgis, South Dakota About a year ago, God made it clear that we were to take a vision trip to the Biker Rally in Sturgis, SD. Now keep in mind that I have never even been on a motorcycle. Of course, when I told the team, they immediately knew it was from God – because that was just not something I could dream up on my own. As we began praying and preparing, it was incredible to see how everything just fell into place. God was certainly moving in the preparation. On August 2 nd , the time had finally come for us to take off for a God orchestrated adventure. The first thing that our team did when we all arrived was go downtown just to see what it was going to be like. Overwhelming was an understatement. There were motorcycles and people everywhere! As we walked down the street, we saw some really amazing things happening, but sadly we also saw some things that were not of God. That night back in the home where we were staying as we began worship and prayer – we all immediately knew this was something that was going to go above and beyond what we had imagined. The amount of hurting and broken people that we saw in just a few short hours was astounding. God made it clear that He was going to take us deeper and further – we just had to be willing. That’s really where our adventure begins…a willing heart! We hope that you will enjoy just a couple of stories from the week in South Dakota. Traci Rogers, Amarillo Director HOPE Sturgis Edition Crossing any border… People should NEVER be Bought or Sold As we were all standing there, we were broken hearted to see a young lady with “Pain for Sale” on her back. Now she wasn’t technically selling herself – or was she? She was advertising a tattoo shop with those words painted on her back and nothing but paint on her front. As people would walk by, men and women both, would stop. Some would simply put money in her strap others would want a picture with her. She was being exploited. God opened the door for us to be able to talk to the young lady. At the end of the conversation, she hugged one of the team members so tight. There was something about it, the team member knew she was stepping in for the young ladies mom at that point. What a honor and privilege it was for us to be able to just love her and tell her she was loved and she was beautiful. It was like she had never heard those words before – except in a sexual manner. Thank you Jesus for allowing the team such an amazing encounter. Loving Everyone We are called to love people right where they are – without judgement & without condemnation. Bringing

HOPE Sturgis Edition

Crossing any border…

People should NEVER be Bought or Sold As we were all standing there, we were broken hearted to see a young lady with “Pain for Sale” on her back. Now she wasn’t technically selling herself – or was she? She was advertising a tattoo shop with those words painted on her back and nothing but paint on her front. As people would walk by, men and women both, would stop. Some would simply put money in her strap others would want a picture with her. She was being exploited. God opened the door for us to be able to talk to the

young lady.

Loving Everyone

We are called to love people right

where they are – without judgement

& without condemnation.

Bringing

You Never Know… We just can’t know how kindness will impact others. As we visited with a few of the girls that were working at the event, we were just broken hearted for them. They were being exploited in every way imaginable, with virtually no breaks. That’s when God told us to just offer to bring them lunch the next day. Which is exactly what we did. The girls were so moved by our generosity that one of them felt compelled to offer us concert tickets. Her words were, “I just thought of you when I got these cus you all blessed our day.” WOW! We hadn’t even taken them

lunch yet. Just the fact that we would offer to do something blessed their day. Of course, the next day we took them lunch with a card for the 4 that we had really got to visit with. A few hours later, we received another text, “Ok!!! I totally cried!!! You all have blessed my heart to no end! There are just no words to describe it! A million times over THANK YOU!!! From the bottom of my heart!” What a great reminder of how the simplest thing can have such a huge impact. Everyone needs & wants to feel special and loved.

It Doesn’t Stop Just because we are home, doesn’t mean that God stops moving. As Kenny, Kaytlin & Traci drove down the road in Amarillo, Kenny spotted some motorcycles for sale. Of course, he had to stop to take a look at them. Thinking he was just there to check out the bikes for sale, he began to speak to the salesman. Very quickly, Kenny realized he was there for an entirely different purpose. The man helping him, had just received Christ as his Savior 2 weeks ago. He was living at the Salvation Army and rebuilding his life. He had lost everything because of drugs and alcohol but was now walking in the freedom that only Christ can bring. Kenny was able to pray over him and just spend some time pouring into this precious man’s life. God is still using Sturgis to impact lives in Amarillo!

The light shines in the darkness and the

darkness can never extinguish it. John 1:5

Preparing for 2019 We were all in complete unity. This is something God wants us to continue. Even though we are still praying through the details, we know that we will be back in Sturgis next August. We would love to have you begin praying for us to have the discernment & courage

to do exactly what God shows us. We know His plans are great and are so excited to watch them unfold. Already He has been giving us great visions of what it’s going to look like. Keep watch as more details become available. BE PRAYING!

It’s not about the numbers, but we understand that for some it’s the only way to imagine… There were so many people it was very difficult to keep track of how many lives we were touching. We handed out 140+ Cool Ties & 94+ Bracelets. There were so many that we were able to pray over and speak life into. The connections we were able to make were incredible. So many that had forgotten there was hope in this dark world – we were able to bring the LIGHT of Jesus to them.

Lost with no Hope As we are driving looking for a place to park, we can’t help but notice this man sitting on the sidewalk looking very sad. Two of our ladies, have the chance to speak with him. They just sat down with him and began to speak with him. He had traveled to Sturgis by himself, was lost, didn’t know where he parked, and couldn’t find his cell phone. So, he had just given up all hope. The ladies were able to pray with him and one of our men was able to at least point him in the direction of where his car might be based on the details of the surroundings he could remember. As the rest of the team watched and prayed from a distance, we knew we were out that night just for him. Then we heard the sweetest thing. As he was hugging the ladies & thanking them, he spoke and said “You all are just out tonight spreading JOY!!” He was so sad and lonely, but all it took was someone listening, caring, and praying...suddenly he was filled with JOY.

Tents in the Dark! One particular night, our team decided that we needed to prayer walk the RV Park right across the street from where we were staying. The night got later & the air turned slightly chilly. It would have been easy for us to say “lets do it tomorrow”; however, we knew that God had shown someone that we needed to go. So, we put on our jackets & headed out. It wasn’t long before it got dark. As we rounded the corner, we noticed a man struggling with his tent. He explained that he had only put it up once (in his living room). We wasted no time. Our team moved quickly with lights and hands to help. The man couldn’t believe that we would give up our evening just to help a total stranger. An hour or so later, his tent was ready for him to move in. There’s nothing like seeing a shocked smile on someone’s face when you truly help and want nothing in return! Go Team!
