The Cultural Agility Team of the Planning and Development Department (PDD), is organizing an afternoon event during the Bring Your Kids to Work Dayto empower our daughters and introduce them to female role models who are in non-traditional female jobs. This event is a way to inspire our daughters that every job is possible and attainable! There will be speakers, an opportunity to ask questions and talk to different engineers, firefighters, building inspectors, police women, electricians, truck drivers, park rangers, computer programmers and a bunch of other amazing ladies. It is for girls ages six and older, but all boys are welcome too! Women in Leadership

On May 15, community members and area golfers came together to celebrate the grand opening of the Encanto Golf Course Tavern.

The tavern was recently renovated. It features a new casual dining menu and a full bar.

It is a great spot for golfers to grab a bite after playing a round and is within walking distance for residents in the nearby neighborhood.

The Women In Leadership (WIL) Mentoring

Subcommittee sponsored an employee net-

working event with over 60 employees in at-

tendance. The purpose of this event was to of-

fer opportunities for all levels of employees to

share their backgrounds and experiences to

help them grow both professionally and person-

ally.

The event included a lively Q&A session with a

focus on when to network, challenges with net-

working and tips to increase comfort level when

“working a room.”

This WIL event is part of a series of networking

opportunities that will be available during the

rest of the year. Employees who are interested

in getting more information about future events

FIRE EMERGENCY DISPATCHER - Fire Department: $19.64 - $28.79/hourly.

Operates computer-aided dispatching equipment to quickly and accurately receive and transmit information of an emergency nature for Phoenix and surrounding communities.

Work involves answering and evaluating incoming 9-1-1 calls to determine the appropriate level of fire or emergency medical assistance required, dispatching units, giving medical pre-arrival instructions and transmitting information and messages according to established procedures.

Requires clerical experience and the ability to type 40 words per minute. Qualified candidates will be invited to take the online examination at a cost of $25 (or slightly more if taken in-home).

Apply by June 3. You must successfully pass all phases of the online test on or before June 10 to be considered for this position.
