Bridge Strings is a family run business, passionate about string music and bringing its beauty to your wedding.

Bridge Strings is based in South Wales. It is made up of Wesley, playing violin alongside his two daughters Rhianwen and Naomi

who play viola and violin. Their vision is to create beautiful music, making your day

unforgettable. After many years performing in a wide range of

venues, from castles, churches, cathedrals, town halls, theatres and concert halls, the family members

established Bridge Strings, with a single passion:

Music Guide

For the Bride and Groom The music on your wedding day will provide an emotional landscape for you and your guests to enjoy and celebrate. It will be a very memorable part of your day, enhanced by the musical choices you make.

Try not to leave the decisions about your wedding music until a few weeks before the big day. When you are organising flowers, the cake, stationery, and a plethora of other things on your wedding to do list, don’t forget to jot down the music that is special to you.

Music is the language of emotion and as such it will powerfully evoke emotions that will make your day extra special. Included in Bridge Strings wedding packages is the bespoke creation of the music which is special to you. We consider it a privilege to spend the time finding out from you what music is on that all important list. We will create arrangements to suit you and your guests.

A piece of music which is special to you, might not be seen as a typical wedding choice, but when it is personal to you, the music is a part of your story. In past weddings, choices have included, Ghostbusters, Master and Commander, Top Gun, The Great Escape and the list goes on, each with with their own tales from the family and friends and you, the bride and groom.

Music For A Love Story

CHECKLIST For The ceremony

Choose between five and ten pieces for your guests to arrive to before the ceremony.

Entrance music. Will it be traditional or modern?

For a church ceremony remember to plan your hymns. Will you want the hymns played on the church organ? If yes, will you want the musicians to play with the organ?

For a civil ceremony remember that your musical choices must be non-religious and that you might be asked to inform the registrar of your musical choices for the ceremony.

Choose two or three musical items for the signing of the register. Even though the third piece might not be played due to time constraints, it is useful as a backup if time overruns during the signing of the marriage certificate.

Music for the exit of the bridal party is normally upbeat. This is the music that celebrates that the bride and groom have tied the knot.

CHECKLIST For The Drinks REception & Wedding breakfast

Make a list of around twenty of your favourite music tracks. Go through your playlists to help you decide.

Try to mix up styles, adding music you know your guests will love.

Ask your musicians to provide a PA sound system if it is required for the venue.

Don’t leave it too late to plan the first dance. Choose music that will simply sweep you off your feet.

Ask your family and friends what music they love. Use the R.S.V.P. as an opportunity to find out their musical choices which can be included on your day.

Repertoire

Bridge Strings perform music which is arranged by its members. This leads to bespoke music which has a very personal connection. Their current music includes classical and opera, musicals, films and games, jazz, tango and waltz, pop and rock covers, Celtic, country and folk. Their repertoire is continually being added to.
