Elizabeth Lee and Aaron Fujino — both born and raised in Hawaii — have been best friends for 13 years. And from their engagement on July 4, 2013, to their marriage a year later, Independence Day has become their own declaration of love. But these patriotic nuptials almost didn’t happen. “It seemed so silly to spend hard-earned money on one day,” Liz says. “But after weeks of deliberation, we asked ourselves, ‘If we don’t celebrate our marriage, what will we celebrate in life?’ We knew it was once in a lifetime.” With the wedding on the calendar, the couple developed a brand — rich, rustic Americana. And after touring hotels, resorts and ranches in both Hawaii, Santa Barbara and Utah, the choice was clear. “Our wedding’s signature detail was Utah — life elevated,” says Liz, who earned both her undergraduate degree and MBA at BYU. “We wanted to share this place that we love with the people we love.” And share they did. The wedding spread over four days and included a barbecue and water rafting. “It was important to us to disconnect from our busy lives and create an experience for our beloved family and friends.” “I have never felt this kind of peace in my life. More than anything, I just felt a deep sense of gratitude and humility.” 1. Our guests went back for seconds!” 2. POP GOES THE CAKE This creative confection of cake pops was Aaron’s idea — and it’s modern country charm at its finest. 3. AMERICAN COMFORT Considering their history, the Americana theme was an easy choice. To give the wedding a more luxurious feel, they softened the hues to blush, ivory, navy blue and touches of gold. 4. TALK OF THE TABLE As a destination wedding — with most guests flying in from Hawaii and California — an intimate, plated dinner was the perfect way to celebrate the joyful union. 5. LITTLE TOUCHES Liz was blown away by every detail of her wedding — from her family walking down the mountain aisle to her custom wedding gown to Alixann Loosle’s magical pho- tography that captured it all. “I truly believe our vendors are the best in the business,” Liz says. “Our wedding was an amazing experience because they were able to take our vision and execute it with professionalism and craftmanship. And the venue was more beautiful than I even imagined. As soon as Mary Crafts gave me a tour of Aspen Meadows, the choice was easy.” 6. SAVE THE STATE Liz and Aaron’s save the date cards took quite the shape — Utah. The simple and clean design was cut out of wood with letterpress on 220-lb Crane paper. And they addressed the en- velopes using gold heat transfer foil. “It set the tone for our entire wedding planning,” Liz says. e. Stacy Klein and TJ Bittel didn’t go on

their first date until five years after they met. A

fter bumping into each other at a local coffee shop, the N

ew York resi-

dents went out for dim

sum, shared a kiss on the Brooklyn Bridge and w

ent to see a movie —

and cupid quickly struck. “The date w

as eight hours long, and neither of us wanted the night to end!” Stacy says. A

s their romance grew

into m

arriage plans, TJ went all out on the proposal. H

e took her back to that mom

entous Brooklyn Bridge and asked Stacy to be his w

ife while a photographer captured the m

oment nearby. Later that night, he gave Stacy a padlock engraved

with their initials, a guidebook and a flight itinerary for a trip to Paris. Just ... oui. Stacy then team

agical,” Stacy says, “but the absolute highlight w

as having all of our loved ones from all over the country together to share the occasion.”
