Tap Skip to go straight into the app.

Tap the forward and back arrows to

move through the new features.

Smart Dialing

Bria suggest contacts to you as you enter a name or number. On the Phone tab on your Android phone or the

dialpad on your Android tablet, start typing a phone number or a name. Bria searches your contacts and brings up

a list of matches. Bria refines the list as you enter more numbers and characters. Scroll through the list of matches

and tap on the number or contact you want to use. (BA-5571)

Contact Favorites (Android Phone Only)

Add contacts to your Favorites list for easy, one-touch access.

There are three ways to add Favorites:

Tap "+". This will bring up the list of your contacts.

Select the contact(s) you want to add as a favorite. You can select more than one contact.

Tap .

The contact(s) are added to your favorites list.

If your Favorite has more than one phone number, Bria presents Call options where you can select one of the

numbers. If you always use that number, you can select "Remember this choice" and Bria will link that number to

the Favorite. (BA-6576)

Swipe between Navigation Panes (Android Phone Only)

You can quickly move between Phone, Contacts, History, Messages and Settings by swiping left or right.

During a call, swiping to the left will still add video to the call. Swiping to the right will still let you navigate back

to the call interface where you can access features such as Mute, Audio Options, Hold, Add a Call, Start an audio

recording, Transfer a call, Add video and Remove video.

Call Decline Options (Android Phones only)

Bria now has Call Reminder and Quick Response options for declining a call.

To use Call Reminder, go to Settings > Preferences > Decline Options and turn ON Enable Call Reminder. Use

Call Reminder Delay to set the length of time until the reminder pops up. Once you Decline the call, Bria asks if

you want to schedule a reminder and a pop up will appear to remind you at the end of set interval.

On Android phones, you can send a Quick Response to an XMPP Buddy who is one the same XMPP server when

you decline a call. You can create your own custom messages as well as using the standard messages. Go to

Settings > Preferences > Decline Options and tap +. Enter your new message and tap OK. Tap the X beside a

message to remove it from the list of options. If you use a Quick Response, Bria will still ask if you want to

schedule a reminder. (BA-7400)

Audio Gain Control

You can set Bria so that it automatically controls audio gain levels by turning ON Settings > Advanced Settings >

Advanced Media Options > Audio Gain. When Audio Gain Control is ON, you can Configure Microphone Level

and select one of the five output levels. (BA-7401)

Strip Foreign Domain Setting

If an inbound call has a different domain than yours and the username portion of the IP address is digits only, Bria

will remove the domain in log entries in History. Contacts created from the log entries will store the username

digits only. You should be able to number from your domain without any issues. By default, this setting will be

OFF. If you receive a “403 – Not relaying” response when making an outbound call, turning Settings > Accounts

(SIP) > Accounts Advanced > Strip Foreign Domain ON may help. (BA-6360)

MDM Integration with BlackBerry® Dynamics

Previously Bria integrated with Good Technology for Mobile Device Management (MDM). This version of Bria

has been updated to use the latest SDK from BlackBerry® who acquired Good Technology.

It also includes the Bypass Unlock feature, which prevents the device from being locked during a call. With this

feature, end users will no longer need to enter a password during a call to access call controls such as mute and

hold.

For customers using the Bria Stretto for Good client, all you need to do is to inform your users to update the

existing app to the latest version via Google Play.

For customers with their own custom brand, you will receive this update when you request this version. You will

then simply upload the latest build onto your Store page. (BA-3308)

2.2 Resolved Issues

There have been improvements in the overall stability and performance of Bria.

Please report any issues to https://support.counterpath.com.

2.3 Known Issues

Permission for Call Recording

If you see a dialog asking to give Bria a permission to record a call, answer Yes even if you do not intend to

record calls. This dialog is actually asking for a permission to access your microphone for making calls, not

necessarily for recording. Calls will be recorded if you manually start recording during a call, or if you enable the

Auto Record Calls preference. This dialog will be changed in a future release. (BA-6097)

Screen Doesn’t Wake on Incoming Call

This is a known issue on Android OS for some devices where the screen remains off when receiving a call.

Double tap to wake the phone and answer the call. The list of open issues is available at Android Open Source

Project – Issue tracker at https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=79259 (BA-2418)

Dialer Integration

Bria 3.0 and 3.1 do not have native dialer integration; the dialer picker does NOT show up so the native dialer is

always used for making a call. This is a known issue on Android.

See https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=58097

Bluetooth issues on Android devices

Bluetooth integrates best with Android OS 4.0 or later. There are known issues in Android OS regarding

Bluetooth audio support for third party applications such as Bria. The full list of open issues can be found at:

http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/list?can=2&q=Bluetooth&colspec=ID+Type+Status+Owner+Summary+

[Tablet Edition] No Video Sent to Remote End when a Video Call is Minimized

Bria stops sending video to the remote end when a video call is minimized. The call remains active (not on hold);

only video will be removed from the call. This is due to a limitation of the Android framework that does not allow

apps to capture video unless the camera preview surface is created and shown.

[Tablet Edition] Wallpaper

Users might see a flash of the Android wallpaper screen when navigating from the Bria main screen to the Bria

Settings screen (and vice versa). To prevent the wallpaper from appearing, go to Android Settings > tap Screen >

Animation and choose Some animations or No animations.

3.2 Resolved Issues

New Contacts Preference

If you have noticed some of your native contacts are not displayed in Bria's

Contacts tab (e.g., you have contact groups created on your device), this

version of Bria will have a solution for you. Make sure that Show All

Contacts is enabled under Bria's preferences. Enabling this setting displays all

of your contacts saved on your native contacts app, regardless of contact

group settings.

Please report to https://support.counterpath.com if this does not work for you.

When opening a topic, please indicate which device you are using. (BA-6024,

5783)

Hyperlink Previews in Messages

In this version, our retail brand includes this feature. See Section 6.1 for

details.

BroadWorks Feature Pack Improvements

This version contains various improvements for BroadWorks Feature Pack including:

Deleting a call log entry on a mobile device deletes the entry from the server-side log on the Xtended

Service Platform (XSP).

Call duration is displayed in enhanced call logs.

Bria displays basic call logs if it fails retrieving enhanced call logs from the XSP.

Bria refreshes the call history when the user visits the History tab.

A missed call indicator persists until the user opens the History tab.

5 Bria 3.7.4 (October 14, 2016)

This version includes a fix for dialing contacts with hyphens in number.

provides a thumbnail view as well as the ability to open a preferred app

instead of simply opening the browser (e.g. launching the YouTube

app). (BA-5570)

6.2 Resolved Issues

This version addresses crashes reported by the users. If you encounter an issue, please report to

https://support.counterpath.com.

7 Bria 3.7.2 (September 28, 2016)

Android N Support

Bria 3.7.2 includes Android N support. When using Bria on Android N, you will be able to leverage new features

such as:

- Direct reply to new messages from Notifications

- Quick settings, allowing you to set online presence and turn on/off DND without opening Bria

- Direct boot support, ensuring Bria will alert you for incoming calls and new messages even without you

unlocking the phone after it reboots on its own.

One-tap Voicemail Calling

Previously dialing a voicemail from dialpad required two taps: the vm

button, then the call button. Now only tapping the vm button connects to

the voicemail number. (BA-5303)

Multiple IM Selection

Now you can select multiple messages for deleting. (BA-5573)

New Icons

German Language Support

NAT64 Support for SIP Accounts

There are two settings under SIP account to enable NAT64 support over Wi-Fi or Mobile network. (BI-2746)

On by default. Leave it on if there is a possibility that Bria is going onto an IPv6-only network, trying to reach

IPv4-only SIP services/infrastructure over Wi-Fi.

- Requires that the configured name servers support DNS64.

- Requires a Session Border Controller (SBC) with latching support, or a STUN server. ICE is not

supported.

- This feature is typically not necessary on platforms/networks where alternative IPv4-to-IPv6 transition

mechanisms are used (e.g. 464XLAT, Android CLAT).

When the NAT64 setting is on and Bria detects an IPv6-only network, it will try to use DNS64 to translate IPv4

addresses into IPv6 addresses. The NAT64 setting has no effect when Bria uses IPv4 to communicate with the

SIP server (in other words when the IP Version setting is set to IPv4).

IPv6 Support for SIP and XMPP

New settings have been introduced to control the IP version for DNS lookup, SIP signaling and XMPP

connections. You can choose one of the following options for each SIP/XMPP account.

- IPv4 - Bria uses IPv4 and does not look for IPv6 at all.

- IPv6 - Same as above, except it uses IPv6.

- Prefer IPv4 - Bria uses IPv4 first if it detects both IPv4 and IPv6.

- Prefer IPv6 - Same as above, except it uses IPv6 first. (default)

Note that the new setting does not apply to HTTP/S connections such as login and provisioning. Bria leverages

the OS native HTTP/S Framework for these connections. Customers using IP address for HTTP/S connections

must change the IP address to FQDN. (BA-5693)

For branded customers, the IP version is provisionable per account. The data type is integer: 0 = IPv4 only, 1 =

IPv6 only, 2 = Prefer IPv4, 3 = Prefer IPv6 (default).

by a copyright notice that is included in or attached to the work (an example is provided in the Appendix below).

"Derivative Works" shall mean any work, whether in Source or Object form, that is based on (or derived from) the Work and

for which the editorial revisions, annotations, elaborations, or other modifications represent, as a whole, an original work of

authorship. For the purposes of this License, Derivative Works shall not include works that remain separable from, or merely

link (or bind by name) to the interfaces of, the Work and Derivative Works thereof.

"Contribution" shall mean any work of authorship, including the original version of the Work and any modifications or

additions to that Work or Derivative Works thereof, that is intentionally submitted to Licensor for inclusion in the Work by the

copyright owner or by an individual or Legal Entity authorized to submit on behalf of the copyright owner. For the purposes of

this definition, "submitted" means any form of electronic, verbal, or written communication sent to the Licensor or its

representatives, including but not limited to communication on electronic mailing lists, source code control systems, and issue

make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer the Work, where such license applies only to those

patent claims licensable by such Contributor that are necessarily infringed by their Contribution(s) alone or by combination of

their Contribution(s) with the Work to which such Contribution(s) was submitted. If You institute patent litigation against any

entity (including a cross-claim or counterclaim in a lawsuit) alleging that the Work or a Contribution incorporated within the

Work constitutes direct or contributory patent infringement, then any patent licenses granted to You under this License for that

Work shall terminate as of the date such litigation is filed.

4. Redistribution. You may reproduce and distribute copies of the Work or Derivative Works thereof in any medium, with or

without modifications, and in Source or Object form, provided that You meet the following conditions:

(a) You must give any other recipients of the Work or Derivative Works a copy of this License; and

(b) You must cause any modified files to carry prominent notices stating that You changed the files; and

must include a readable copy of the attribution notices contained within such NOTICE file, excluding those notices that

do not pertain to any part of the Derivative Works, in at least one of the following places: within a NOTICE text file

distributed as part of the Derivative Works; within the Source form or documentation, if provided along with the

Derivative Works; or, within a display generated by the Derivative Works, if and wherever such third-party notices

normally appear. The contents of the NOTICE file are for informational purposes only and do not modify the License.

You may add Your own attribution notices within Derivative Works that You distribute, alongside or as an addendum

to the NOTICE text from the Work, provided that such additional attribution notices cannot be construed as modifying

the License.

You may add Your own copyright statement to Your modifications and may provide additional or different license terms

and conditions for use, reproduction, or distribution of Your modifications, or for any such Derivative Works as a whole,

provided Your use, reproduction, and distribution of the Work otherwise complies with the conditions stated in this

License.

5. Submission of Contributions. Unless You explicitly state otherwise, any Contribution intentionally submitted for inclusion

in the Work by You to the Licensor shall be under the terms and conditions of this License, without any additional terms or

conditions. Notwithstanding the above, nothing herein shall supersede or modify the terms of any separate license agreement

you may have executed with Licensor regarding such Contributions.

6. Trademarks. This License does not grant permission to use the trade names, trademarks, service marks, or product names

of the Licensor, except as required for reasonable and customary use in describing the origin of the Work and reproducing the

content of the NOTICE file.

7. Disclaimer of Warranty. Unless required by applicable law or agreed to in writing, Licensor provides the Work (and each

Contributor provides its Contributions) on an "AS IS" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY

determining the appropriateness of using or redistributing the Work and assume any risks associated with Your exercise of

permissions under this License.

otherwise, unless required by applicable law (such as deliberate and grossly negligent acts) or agreed to in writing, shall any

Contributor be liable to You for damages, including any direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages of any

character arising as a result of this License or out of the use or inability to use the Work (including but not limited to damages

for loss of goodwill, work stoppage, computer failure or malfunction, or any and all other commercial damages or losses),

even if such Contributor has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Accepting Warranty or Additional Liability. While redistributing the Work or Derivative Works thereof, You may choose

to offer, and charge a fee for, acceptance of support, warranty, indemnity, or other liability obligations and/or rights consistent

with this License. However, in accepting such obligations, You may act only on Your own behalf and on Your sole

responsibility, not on behalf of any other Contributor, and only if You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold each Contributor

harmless for any liability incurred by, or claims asserted against, such Contributor by reason of your accepting any such

warranty or additional liability.
