India is a growing agricultural economy and there is an everincreasing demand for large-scale irrigation of agriculturallands. This has necessitated the development of larger, morecomprehensive irrigation schemes using structures such asdams, weirs, diversion structures and water distributioninfrastructure for irrigation projects.
