The Electrical Contractors Association of New Zea-land (ECANZ) is recognised as the major electrical contracting trade association in New Zealand.

On the weekend of 24th June, the Sumner Long board riders club SLBC went up to Kaikoura to compete against the Kaikoura Longboard riders club. The ONE WAVE contest is a simple format: all the competing surfers have to ride the same 1962’ish Dunga surfboard, a difficault board to ride because its not in the best shape and should have been thrown away years ago! The contest rules are simple. You Get one wave to chance your skill of surfing on this board. Once you have started to paddle for a wave on the board you are committed to catching it no matter what kind of wave it turns out to be. The judges will then score your wave out of a possible 10 points. Mr Derek Camm won the event with a 9.0 point ride and also help win the trophy and bragging rights for SLBC for another year. Well done mate! Not bad for an old man!
