Brand Nu Biography
SubjecKve Framework
• I chose to look at Brand Nu because I wanted to study an illustrator with a wide range of different contemporary styles and pieces, which I can then generate ideas for my own work with. I like the way Radim uses a wide range of different techniques with in illustrator to create powerful composiKons. His use of colour draws viewers towards it and uses a mixture of black and white backgrounds with powerful contemporary colours to create an appealing composiKon. The second picture at the top of the page adverKsing for Smirnoff really draws the viewers in by the bright colours surrounding boSle which helps make the boSle stand out. The bright colours also are good adverKsement as it puts pictures of holidays and sun and sea, which could improve demand for this product.
Structural Framework
• Radim uses a range of vector shapes, Photoshop brushes and photographic elements to create his composiKons. He tries to go for less complicated photos, and uses more vibrant concepts and colours to create a contrast with in composiKons. He is also known for mulK-‐layering with in pieces, which he helps the main concept with in a piece to stand out. Along with all this he doesn’t tend to have a game plan and narrow path of resources to use, he quotes ‘I just go with the flow and see what happens’. For example the third picture at the top of the page is showing a picture, which is represenKng the debate between wrong and right, happy and sad, dark and light etc. He is trying to show that by just siXng down for a few minutes you are able to ponder of what the next answer to every present quesKon of today.
Cultural Framework
The modern style and colours in Radim’s pieces of work suggests that his work has a more present tense meaning. Radim’s inspiraKon he quotes ‘I believe inspiraKon comes to you, hits you in the nose where ever you go. Everyday you encounter various elements that shape your thoughts and moods. There’s many in the mix, you just choose the ones that you digest’. StylisKcally Radim may have been influenced by arKsts such as Maciej Rakowski and Andrew Huynh. Maciej is a Polish up and coming graphic’s editor who uses applicaKons such as Flash, Photoshop, SwiY3D, Illustrator and dream weaver. From these applicaKons he is able to creates illustraKons, posters, logo’s, websites, drawings and t-‐shirts. Andrew Huynh is a lifestyle photographer born raised and based in Philadelphia, he focuses in 'People' photography including head shots, portraits, and model por]olio development. Andrew may have influenced Brand nu as Maciej incorporates photography head shots with his illustraKons.

Post-‐Modern framework
• Radim is seen all around society through adverKsement. For this reason he is always using up to date applicaKons to ensure he stays on-‐top of new designs and composiKons he can produce. This is a piece he created for Smirnoff.
• I will use his techniques such as layering to help create a composiKon for my idea on gambling. I also will like to experiment with different materials and applicaKons to broaden my range of different composiKons I can create.
