INTRODUCTION

Brain Computer Interface is a direct communication pathway between brain and an external device.

Richard Caton was the pioneer who discovered electrical signals on the surface of animal brains through his path-breaking research.

Brain signals such as the EEG suggested the possibility of non-muscular communication and control, consummated through a BCI.

What is a BCI?

A BCI is a communication and control system that establishes real-time interaction with the user and outside world.

BCI does not depend in any way on the brain’s normal neuromuscular output channels.

How does BCI work?

It works on interaction of two adaptive controllers:

1) The user, who generates brain signals that encodes intent.

2) BCI system, that must translate the received signals into commands that perseveres the user’s intent.

3)BCI usage is a skill-oriented tactic which user and system should acquire and maintain.

The users are to amass a specific

domain of skills , taking all the

miniature aspects into consideration.

Over dealing with CNS involves many

potential risks and any malfunction

could result in chronic disorders.
