GENERAL Three sketch plan solutions have been prepared marked A Band C and the following r emarks DESCRIPJION OF apply generally to all schemes PROPOSID SCHEMES It must be appreciated that the high density required cannot be achieved by limiting all

buildings to three storeys while r etaining tho desired max imum site coverage and the open planning considered essential It wa s therefore found that the best solution lay in the provis ion of a percentage of multi shystorey units not exceeding eight storeys in height in combination with 3-storcy units This variation in the character of the buildings provides the opportunity for middot ( a ) contrasting composition of the schemes as a whole togethlr with variety of street f a cades(b) larger and more unified open space with adcquat0 scope for l andscaping

A careful analysis of existing r oad pattern - istas and ma jor axes ha s shown that Ainslie Avenue is a particul arly dominant roa d elCmcnt It _ middot_ therefore been considered that as the two sites (Braddon and RGid) ar c symmetrically l ocated across this axis a baleneed composition on either side of Ainsl ie Avenue should be provided

A total of 320 Dwelling Units has been provided in a single 8 - storey block and five 3- storey blocks The multi -storey block which is L- shaped has been sited parallel to Ainslie Avenue and a return wing along Ballumbir Street Of the five 3- storcy bl ocks three have been sited in an echelon form alnng Currong Street giving horizontal contrast to the vertical emphasis of ta -lulti- storey block Two L-shaped blocks form the horizontal contrast in Ballumbir Street introducing variety to the street pattern
