HMC AWARDSHorizon Educational Trustholds an annual mathematics competition which isknownastheHorizonMathematicsCompetition.
Since 2000,Horizon Educational Trusts Schools (Star Colleges in Cape Town,Durban,Pretoriaand inJohannesburg)haveinvited surroundingschoolsin thecommunitytoparticipateinthiscompetition.

NETBALL GIRLS SHOW GENEROSITY TO UNDERPRIVILEGED TEAMBryanstonPrimarysU11Anetballteamshowedheartthisweek,byassistinganetballteamfromanunderprivilegedschool.
TheU11AteamplayedtheEbominiPrimaryU11sinthedistrictnetballplayoffs,andalltheBPSgirlsweredistressedaboutthefactthattheiropponentsdidnothaveanytakkiestowear.Thecoachsaidthattheycomefromaverypoorareaandmostofthechildrensparentsareunemployed,andthereforetakkiesare
aluxury,notanecessity.TheparentsoftheBryanstonU11Ateammadedonations,andMrsLeighPenneypurchasedtenpairsoftakkiesandsocks.Thesewerethen takentoEbomini PrimaryinIvoryPark,wheretheywerepresentedtothenetballteam.Thegirlsweredelightedwiththeirnewfootwear!
Andinthespiritofsport,thegirlsallwentoutsidewhereaspontaneousgame of netball broke out, eventhough they were all in schooluniform and shoes showing thatsport isagreatwaytobreakdownbarriers!Acrowdofchildrengathered
to watch and cheer for every goalscored.
Well done girls, for your generosityandcareforthoseless fortunate thanyourselves!
