HERE ARE 10 TIPS TO HELP PROTECT THESE LITTLE MINDS:

1. Gettoknowyourchildren.Acloserelationshiporbondwiththemwillhelpyoudetermineifanythingiswrong.

2. Educateyourchildrenaboutthedangerstheyface.Discusstopicslikedruguse,alcoholabuse,sexandpeerpressure.

3. Abuse,sexualassault,abductionandviolencearesomeofthechallengesfacedbyyouthtoday.Teachchildrennottogoanywherealoneorwithstrangers.

4. Ahomeisaplacewhereachildshouldfeelsafeandloved.Ensureahealthyfamilyenvironment.Setagoodexample.

5. Neverleavechildrenunattendedorinanunsafeenvironment.Ifyourchildrenareleftinthecareofsomeoneelse,ensurethepersoncanbetrusted.

6. Ensureyourchildrenknowtheirnames,yournameandwhotocontactincase

ofanemergencywhentheyareofage.7. Teachyourchildrenaboutresponsibility.Putreasonablerulesinplacebutalso

remembernottobeoverprotective.

8. Payattentiontothem,listentothem,andspendtimewiththem.Beinvolvedinyourchildslife.

9. Payattentiontochangesinpersonalityorattitude.Thiscouldbeasignalthatsomethingiswrong.

10. Teachchildrenabouttheuseofsocialmedia,theinternetandcellularphones.Theyshouldbemadeawareofthedangersandrulesshouldbeputinplacetoprotectthem.
