The original 2020 Bowling Arm State Championship Singles,scheduled for April 20 & 21, was postponed due to Covid-19
isolation requirements. With the lifting of isolation requirements inthe move to Phase 4 social gatherings, and with the approval ofWarnbro Bowling Club where the event will be hosted, we can
announce the recommencement of these Championships at thenewly scheduled date of MONDAY 5 and TUESDAY 6 OCTOBER.

LANCELIN CLUBS HAVE A WINLANCELIN CLUBS HAVE A WIN
SHIRE BACKS DOWN OVER CLUB CLOSURESMore than 35 people from around the shire showed up at the
monthly council meeting in Gingin today to voice their anger aboutthe Shire’s proposal to close both the Lancelin Golf and Bowls
Clubs.The proposal came out of nowhere on Friday and was due to be
voted on today, however, the enormous public backlash resulted inthe shire meeting with representatives from both clubs before the
council meeting to discuss the issue.In the end, the Shire amended the recommendation and voted toretain both of the Lancelin sports clubs as long as they “remain
sustainable”. They’ve been sustainable for nearly 40 years so thisrider should present no hurdle to both clubs.
A number of councillors acknowledged the solid community supportfor the clubs has been evident over the past 4 days and the Shireand the community have both agreed to work together to ensure a
successful outcome.To all those who got behind the movement, the town thanks you.

The Henselite Champion of Champions Singles rescheduled forSeptember 12th and 13th 2020 is open for entries.
This event is open to all 2019/20 Club singles winners and is apathway to the Australian Champion of Champions to be played at
Dandenong Victoria March 24th-25th 2021.
