Return on Investment

• With 5,879 degree awards this year alone (2013), the lifetime additional earnings of graduates is estimated to be £168k for men and £252k for women. This equates to £1.3 billion each cohort!!

• Society gets an even better return …£1.7 billion in social benefit over each cohort’s lifetime.

• We aim to be in the top 50 of UK universities and are making great strides to achieve this

• In 2013 we were placed 59th overall out of more than 120 universities

• We have approximately 17,000 students of which 1,500 are international students from around 130 countries.

• BU’s activities contribute £378m to the region’s economy – this equates to more than £1m per day.
