Deputy Principal - Miss Margaret Gordon Congratulations to all of the students that travelled to the Gold Coast last week for the Attendance excursion. We had an amazing time and enjoyed every activity we participated in. A highlight for me was the rides at Wet & Wild and watching you all have fun. Thank you to Scott, Lisa and Donna for coming and helping with the excursion. I personally would like to thank the students for their wonderful behaviour and for all of the laughs we had throughout the week. Have a wonderful week 9 and remember Presentation Night is tomorrow night and parent interviews are Wednesday night.

Welcome to week 9 of Term 4. We have a
busy week ahead with Presentation Night on
Tuesday night (Tuesday 5th
December), our
Parent Interviews on Wednesday night
(Wednesday 6th
December) and student
reports going home also on Tuesday 5th
December. Student reports can be collected
after 3pm on Tuesday or at Presentation
night.
This week a team from State Office will be
visiting Bourke Public School and Bourke
High school to evaluate the Connected
Communities Strategy. If any parents or
community members would like to be part of
the evaluation please contact the school
office.
The merit system lunch with the Principal
and Movie afternoon will be held this week.
Congratulations to those students who were
invited to these events.
Parents/carers are reminded to pack
sunscreen, a hat and a sun shirt for all
students who are participating in Intensive
Swimming and also Friday sport. The School
does not provide sunscreen or apply
sunscreen to students. It is the students
responsibility to put their own sunscreen on
when reminded by the teachers.

1D- Miss Duiz In English this week students are finalising their letters to Santa. In Maths students will be learning about chance. In the afternoon sessions students will finalise their research on Kakadu National Park. Students are encouraged to try their hardest to earn bike tickets as next week one boy and one girl will win a bike from Stage One!

Stage 1 AP- Miss Duiz Two weeks ago all Stage One students received a note detailing that Maths books will be sent home this Thursday and all other student workbooks and artwork will be sent home this Friday. If work is not collected by Wednesday of week 10 (next week) work will not be kept. If your child is going to be absent on these dates please let the class teacher know.

Early Stage 1 AP- Miss Mowbray
Welcome to Week 9! This week the Dingoes and Wombats will be with KM and KF so please remember to sign EYTC students in at the main office. Don’t forget the Dingoes last day of school for 2017 is 5th December and the wombats last day is Thursday 7th December. Thank you for a lovely year EYTC students and families.
KF- Miss Finch Welcome to Week 9! Only 2 weeks of school left for this year. Wow it has gone quick. This week KF are looking at Whole Number in Mathematics. In English we will be continuing to publish our fantastic writing on the computer. This is the last week of swimming. On Friday don’t forget to bring your 50cents, swimmers and a towel. Have a great week everyone.
Welcome to Week 9! This week we will be creating a poster for a toy we want for Christmas. We will be thinking of all the great ways we can use the toy. In Maths, we will be using Christmas objects to create different patterns. Don’t forget to bring your swimmers and money on Friday! Remember to keep on trying your best in class so you have a chance to win one of the bikes. Have a great week!
KM- Miss Mowbray Welcome to week 9! This week KM will be focusing on the sound sk. We will also be doing some Christmas writing! In maths KM are learning all about patterns. Don’t forget Presentation Night! I hope to see you all there to celebrate our students and their achievements this year!

Welcome to week 9! This week, we are writing our letters to Santa. We hope he can reply back to us before the end of term. This week is our last week for maths class and we will be taking our books and maths work home on Thursday. Presentation Night is on Tuesday and we can’t wait to see you all. 3H- Miss Heaney The year is flying by! A reminder that Presentation Night is on tomorrow night at the High School MPC. This week 3H will be completing a book review on the 13-Storey Treehouse. During Maths we will be revising strategies learnt throughout the year, particularly in multiplication and division. Intensive swimming is on this week for students who returned a note, don’t forget swimmers, a hat, a towel, a water bottle and sunscreen.
2D- Miss Dorrington 2D have been working with comparing fractions and changing these to decimals. We enjoyed some lovely cake to compare whether a quarter of the cake is better to have than a third. In History we have been investigating how it would have been to travel to Australia on one of the early settlers ships. The students will create a diary as one of the travellers
in Australia.

3W- Miss Wilson
Welcome to Week 9, the year is flying by! This week 3W will be finalising their Veince research assignments and presenting their findings to the class. In Maths we will be looking at Addition and Subtraction strategies and completing a quiz at the end of the week. Don’t forget Parent Teacher interviews will take place this Wednesday. Please call the school to make an appointment with your childs teachers. Have a great week
Stage 3 AP- Miss Wilson Week 9 already! Remember Presentation Night is on tomorrow night and will commence at 6:00pm. Please arrive at the High School MPC by 5:45pm to be seated. Intensive Swimming starts this week. If you are participating please remember to bring your swimmers, a towel, sunscreen and a hat ready for your lessons. Stage 3 Attendance Excursion is this Wednesday at the pool. Congratulations to those students who have achieved 93% and above this term.
3B- Miss Buckley Welcome to Week 9! This Wednesday is Parent/Teacher Interviews so if you would like to book an interview, please contact the front office. This week 3B will be completing their Venice research projects and looking at why people live in certain places. Don’t forget this Wednesday is our Stage 3 Attendance Party at the pool. If you’re invited to attend make sure you pack your swimmers. Have a fantastic week!
Stage 2 AP- Miss Griffiths Presentation night is on Tuesday 5th November. All students are asked to come in school uniform and sit in the allocated seats. We are fast approaching our Attendance and Xmas Parties too. The Attendance party will be a pool party from 11.30am until 1pm on Monday 11th December and the Xmas party will be at school on Friday 8th December with Santa coming to visit. We also have our fun Starries awards running until the end of Term.
2B- Mr Dewberry Welcome to Week 9! We only have 2
weeks left of school. Over the next 2
weeks we have a lot of learning to get
through so please continue to come to
school. In English, we will be still
working on our text ‘Two Peas in a Pod’
and writing a postcard from Violet to
Marvin. In 2B Maths, we will be learning
about Patterns & Algebra. Don’t forget
your swimmers and sunscreen all of this
week if you are doing intensive
swimming.
2G- Miss Griffiths Wow, week nine! What a great achievement for all students! Even though it is getting closer to the end of term that doesn’t mean the learning stops! This week we will be focusing on Patterns and algebra in maths class and in History we will be exploring what it would be like to travel on one of the early settlers ships. President – Lisa Rankmore The P& C would like to Congratulate all students that went on the Gold Coast Excursion for having great attendance all year! Don’t forget the BPS Presentation Night is on Tuesday 5th December. Come along to a great night. The next P&C annual general meeting is Tuesday 12th February 2018 starting at 6pm in the BPS meeting room.
Miss McKechnie Welcome to Week 9 everyone! This is the Final week of school for the year for our Wombats and Dingoes. The EYTC students will be transitioning into Kindergarten this week and can be signed in and out at the front office. If your child utilises the bus service, it will be running as normal. The Dingoes will be spending time with KM and Miss Finch this week and the Wombats will be transitioning with KM and Miss Mowbray. All students can place their bags outside of the Kindergarten classrooms as they arrive. I hope that everyone has an amazing break.

3-6L- Miss Wade Wow! Week 9 already! This week in 3-6L we will be working hard to finish our Science unit on Day and Night. In Geography we will be working with Miss Peterson to complete our Australian Animal Information Reports. Don’t forget that Tuesday night is Presentation Night, please come along to the High School MPC to celebrate what a wonderful year 2017 has been at Bourke Public School. Have a fantastic week!

Miss Bartley & Mrs Roe Congratulations to Bobby Potter, Salome Mann and Amelia Nicholls for some impressive writing to put on Miss Bartley’s Star board. These students received certificates at assembly for their efforts and will see Miss Bartley during the week for their prizes. Keep up the great writing and remember Miss Bartley is looking for more work samples.
Support AP- Miss Nixon This week the Intensive Swimming Scheme will run for Primary students (3-6). It will run for 1 week. Please ensure you pack swimmers, a towel, appropriate footwear and sunscreen for your child if they’re participating. There is a bit under 2 weeks until the Support Classes visit the Cobar Pool for an end of year Christmas party. Please read the note carefully and return the attached permission slip so that your child can attend. Please come and speak to me if you have any questions. The countdown is on! Get excited!
K-3W - Mrs Wood Welcome to Week 9! This week is a very busy and exciting one. Presentation night will be on Tuesday 5th December at the High School MPC. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our students achievements, so please come along! Parent teacher interviews are coming up this week as well. If you would like to make an appointment, please call the office. Keep remembering your swimmers for Friday sport. Have a lovely week.
2-6N- Miss Nixon Week 9 already! Only 2 weeks to go! Last week 2-6N set up our class Christmas tree. This week
we will be making ornaments to hang on the tree
and to decorate the classroom. We will continue to open our advent calendars each morning to
countdown to when Santa comes! This Friday will
be the last week of Swimming for Sport. Don’t forget that you can collect your child’s report from
the Front Office on Monday afternoon. If you
would like to discuss your child’s progress some more, please make an appointment for the parent/
teacher interviews on Wednesday afternoon/ night.
