Once again our year started in January with our presentation night, it proved to be a great
success once again, and a special word of thanks to our special guest on the night John
Maughan. Award winners for the year 2010 were as follows; U10s: Lorcan Loftus, U11s:
Daragh Gill, U12s: Conor Rowland, U13s; Kevin Murphy, U14 Dr Loftus award for most
promising player; Daragh McCormack, U15 & Freddy Canavan Cup; Patrick Gilroy, U16;
Jason Murphy, U18s; Kevin Mulhern.
I would like to thank each coach for all the effort and commitment they have given to their
respective teams throughout 2011. This year our U16 team took the spotlight winning a
county league title, the first county title at this age group since 1991, and also the North
Mayo B title. Our National School team won the north Mayo B title, and our U11s won a
trophy in a newly set up North Mayo U11 league under Go Games rules. It is great when a
team is rewarded by winning something, however not every team can win and those of us
working closely with the young players can see them develop and improve. So well done and
keep up the good work.

U6s & U8’s, training commenced in April and ended in October. They took part in ‘Go
Games’ blitzes and also had several challenge games during the summer. There are great
numbers attending the training sessions and well done to those of you parents who are staying
on and helping out our coaches. We finished the year with a blitz and there was pizza, chips
and medals for all in the club rooms. Well done to all involved.

competed in 5 blitzes and the annual PJ Gilmartin tournament in Ardnaree. All the under 10s
were presented with a football kindly sponsored by Cosgrove Electrical, for their efforts over

2011 Under 14s
U14s. Started early in the year playing in a very competitive Division 1 of the county league.
The tough games stood to them though and they improved during the year, reaching the
North Mayo A final where we lost out to Belmullet. We then competed in the county B
championship, where we qualified for the county semi final where Ballina proved just a step
to far for the team. We also reached the quarter final of the Feile Mayo competition, again
loosing out by the narrowest of margins.

U15s are competing in Division 1 of the county league.
2011 Under 16s
2011 U16s North Mayo B Championship winners & Mayo League Division 3 winners.
U16s played in Division 3 of the county league, and finished 2nd
, they then defeated Naomh
Padraig in a tightly contested semi-final. The final was played mid-august in MacHale Park,
Castlebar against Moy Davitts. Again this was a keenly contested affair and ended all square.
The final was replayed on the 25th
of September and proved to be well worth the wait.
Crossmolina triumphed in a very entertaining and high scoring game. The final score line,
Crossmolina 6-06 Moy Davitts 3-09, this was the first county title for the club at U16 level
since 1991. In the North Mayo B Championship we contested the final against Naomh
Padraig in Moygownagh. As with the league semi-final this proved to be a very keen contest
and Crossmolina did well to secure the title with a strong finish. Our U16 team then contested
in the County U16 B Championship, winning one and losing out in 2 of the games. It proved
to be a long but fruitful season for our U16 team.

2011 Under 18s
U18s competed very well in Division 2 of the county league and made steady progress
throughout the year, they reached the league final. Injury had robbed the team of a few of our
established players but the team that took to the field represented the club very well, being
unlucky to lose out to a more clinical Ballintubber.
Our minor team also competed well in the county summer league reaching the semi-final
where we lost out to Ballina. Competed in the north Mayo A championship and had a fine
win over knockmore to reach the decider, where Ballina proved just a little too strong despite
a fully committed performance.
