Activate the Backorder Processing: In this activity, you determine that the planning version is used for backorder processing in the global ATP check (Global ATP). As you can only execute backorder processing in planning version 000, this indicator is only relevant to planning version 000.

Define Filter Type: In this activity, you create a filter type which defines the characteristics used to filter backorders.Go to spro in APO: Advanced Planning and Optimization Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP) Tools Maintain Filter Type

One can create this by copying SAP_STANDARD. Click on New Entry and define the Filter Type.

Double click on the Order Categories and add as per requirement.

Select the Order Categories and click on Criteria and assign the Field names as per requirements.

Maintain Sort Profile: In this activity you set up a sort profile for backorder processing. Specifications in the sort profile define the processing sequence for order items in backorder processing. This profile enables you to specify characteristics, their sequence (or weighting), and the sort order.

Sequence of criteria: The sequence in which the criterion should be taken into account during the sort is specified by the item of a criterion.The order items are sorted firstly according to the first criterion. Thereafter all order items, which have the same first criterion, are sorted using the second criterion.The sort of documents with the same criteria is coincidental.The value of the item is only used to determine the sequence of processing and display. It does not go into any calculation directly. The value of the item in maintenance differs from its value in the sort profile display.

Generate Filter and Sort Profile: In this step, you can generate a filter type and a sort profile. If the customizing settings are changed, the filter type and sort profile are subsequently regenerated if required. Run Backorder Processing : Go to txn /sapapo/bop in APO for Batch Backorder processing.

One has to fill all the tabs in this screen as per requirement and can save as variant.Enter a name for the BOP run.Enter your Filter Type.You will have to create Filter Variant. By clicking on Filter you can create Filter Variant. Filter Variant looks like following.

After filling all the data you have to execute the programBOP in Simulation mode: The simulation will show you the following result.

BOP in Execution mode : In the execution mode you can determine how the results of backorder processing can be processed further: Results UpdateThe results of backorder processing are immediately updated. Until the update is completed by the connected OLTP system,the allocated quantities are locked by the temporary quantity assignments. The results can be checked subsequently in a log list. SimulationThe backorder processing results are rejected again. The allocated quantities are not protected by temporary quantity assignments. The results can be checked in a log list. Reprocessing Through Interactive Backorder ProcessingThe backorder processing results are not updated immediately. They are saved in a buffer and can be processed further or rejected through interactive backorder processing. The allocated quantities are locked by temporary quantity assignments. The update can also be triggered independently of interactive backorder processing.
