Premiere ProjectsWilson Yard Expansion: This $260.7m Construction Management project for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) includes a variety of projects under a single umbrella. Included are:• Installingeightnewstoragetrackswith traction power, emergency alarm systems (EAS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) capabilities, signaling requirements, south lead track connection and a new substation.• Installinganupdatedyardcontrolboard, route selection network, and

The project is scheduled for January2018 completion.

Union Station Revitalization: Opened in 1927, Toronto’s Union Station is a National Historic Site and a Heritage Railway Station. Target date for completion of this intricate$202m lump sum revitalization of the BayStreet Concourse is October 2018.

According to CBC News, the concourse was last renovated in 1979.

Crews will dig down two levels beneaththe existing concourse as a way to facilitate construction of the north section of the new Bay Concourse in addition to the construction of landings and a network of stairs, elevators and escalators.

The “dig down” will create new access to the restored Great Hall as well as Bay Retail, Bay West Teamway, Arcade and ACC, and train platforms. Union Station’s outdoor connection, or moat,will be transformed into a covered walkway, meaning passengers will no

longer have to go outside to connect between the subway and GO Transit.

Additionally, exterior lighting will be installed across the entire front area of the building and the east face of the East Wing and west face of the West Wing. The East Wing ground floor will also be renovated to create a public access corridor to the Northeast corner, adding retail space on each side of the corridor.

St. Michael’s Hospital Redevelopment: This $301m Construction Management undertaking is a P3 project for St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto that

guarantees a fixed price and a project completion date of November 2019. The centerpiece will be the 17-storey Peter Gilgan Patient Care Tower.

The 250,000-square foot Gilgan Tower will connect existing wings and provide state-of-the-art space for respiratory, orthopedics, oncology and critical care units. The additional space will provide patients and their families with greater comfort while allowing staff to be closer to their patients.

The new tower will both allow major upgrades to the existing buildings on either side, renovating 150,000sf with some units expanding directly into the tower. The Slaight Family Emergency

Department will double in size and a new three-storey structure for the kidney transplant, urology, neurosurgery andorthopedic clinics will replace the outdated Shuter Wing.

Additionally, five new operating rooms will be added, each outfitted with the latest medical imaging technology. These hybrid rooms will allow for both minimally invasive procedures as well as fully open surgery.
